I moved into a new home that was previously wired for surround sound, but was having trouble getting everything to work. Mike came in and fixed everything, so now the speakers are working perfectly. He gave me some recommendations on things I could do in the future to improve the setup, but I never felt pressured, as I've experienced with other places.
It's obvious Mike is an expert at all things home automation. If you're looking for someone who knows what he's doing and is affordable and honest, SD Smart Engineer is the place to go! Highly recommended!

Over a year ago, Mike came over with his team and did an amazing job moving my internet/phone lines to another room. He then upgraded my home with wifi routers on the ceiling to ensure we had strong service. It was not cheap as people expect but think about it as an investment. Imagine now during the pandemic, we have strong service across the house.
There was one issue with a router and he came back and fixed it a year later and did more! He took an extra few hours to change out our other box and was patient with brutal cable providers service. Mike is the real deal. He is professional, clean

He actually was kind enough to guide me to the original installer of the home automation and gave the job away because he thought it was the right thing to do daddy original guy on the job. Over the years we have added tv's wall speakers etc...and it got to the point where there were multiple remotes and it was hard to remember what did what. We contacted a few companies to give us a bid to make everything cohesive. While the other companies came, visually looked and sent a bid. Michael and his team came and looked extensively at all the equipment we had, tested the wifi, even crawled up into the attic all while taking copious notes. Attention was paid to everything. When we bought our house there was an extra room that we didn’t know what to do with at first. We decided to transform it into a movie room. We live in a house in Mission Hills, and it was very hard to find people we can trust. We had all kinds of estimates and different people coming to show us what they could do. We have a friend on the East Coast who is very well educated in AV so we were checking to see who we could trust based on prices and quality. Called in to schedule a quote for a security camera system and a multi room Ethernet cable install. The guy that answered the phone repeatedly talked over me and was not listening. The phone call ended with him saying they are not the cheapest in town. It became clear this is not a company I want to do business with so I ended the call. Called and asked if they mounted tv's onto walls and the guy said, "yeah some jobs." Asked what the rate to do it was, and the guy said, "uh..sounds like a few hours and we charge $175 an hour." I said no thanks and hung up.

Me and my husband made the right choice reaching out to Mike's company to help us on our new construction house in Del Mar. We hired San Diego Sound and Michel as part of our escrow inspections on a property in Meadows Del Mar. It was a very challenging dynamic with a dinosaur of a sound system because you can't just ask the seller for $30,000 for a new system when parts of it were operational. Their team found speakers that weren't working, TV's that weren't correctly connected, and intermittent issues with the system's performance. They were able to articulate on an invoice upgrades of necessary components that were dysfunctional as well as repair of non functioning components for the buyer to include on his request

They were booked solid the week I called but fit me in for morning appointment. Don't bother with the big box stores and their inflated prices. SD Sound Solutions has expertise and gets it done. Even though my job was just re-mount of a newer TV on an existing mount, the project was a little complex because of the available space on my wall, They assessed the set up and did not try to get me to buy a new mount. Honest, good, fast, and they had the most up front and reasonable prices--I will call
