It's an absolute must to stop here right after visiting the Oz museum.
A cute winery located in the heart of downtown Wamego. Like almost the rest of the strip, it is themed after the Wizard of Oz. The wines all have names with some correlation of the movie, and even the designs on the bottles tie in as well.
It's important to know before doing a tasting that there is a small selection to choose from; maybe 7 or 8 wines. You can try two for free, or more with a small fee. I prefer sweet wines and there were only 2, so I just stuck with my free pours. The Squished Witch was my

Worth the detour...
We happened upon this out-of-the-way winery in Kansas, in none other than OZ! Not kidding! Totally worth going out of your way. They have daily tastings of their selection in stock, called Flights! So not kidding! What a hoot! All of their wines are named after the movie of course… Munchkins, Monkeys, Toto, Poppies, Emerald City, and other “witchy” names – you understand! An enormous selection of all kinds of wine! The labels could be sold as artwork by themselves – soooooo cute! We took a couple of bottles home with us, and really pondered just how much I enjoyed

If you haven't already, go down to Oz Winery and check out their wonderful delicious wines! The labels are all OZ themed and fun to look at. The ladies down there sure know their stuff about wine 🍷 It will not disappoint, I promise. They also have yummy assorted chocolates to purchase to pair with your wine. Squished Witch is one of their best sweeter reds. Drunken Munchkin is a dryer red and delicious! Poppy Fields and Home are 2 of my favorite whites. ❤

Very good variety of wines, all very good. You get two free tastings and we also bought a couple flights. They also have cheese, chocolate and crackers to enhance the tasting experience. Our helper was very educated on the wines and a great host. We have seen the signs on the highway forever and I am so glad we finally made the decision to stop. Will probably join the wine club too so we can enjoy at home.

Super fun winery.
The lady who helped us with the wine was helpful and fun and friendly.
We only tried the dry reds, but liked all of them.
The wine bottle labels are all fun spins on the Oz story. The bottle art could each tell their own stories.
We got one bottle to enjoy at the winery and two to go.
Fun, friendly place to stop if you're in the area....

On my second visit to Wamego, KS I finally stopped into the Oz Winery. The customer service was top notch and the lady who was there was super welcoming and knowledgeable. She provided a couple complimentary samples and I ultimately purchased a bottle of wine to go. I also ordered some of the chocolates to go. The dark chocolate peanut cluster and the amaretto truffle were amazing and I regret not buying more. I didn't care for the double chocolate truffle.

We were excited to find such a cute town in Kansas while traveling back to CA. We loved the Oz theme and enjoyed trying some different grapes than what we are used to. We took a few bottles home to remember the experience. I would definitely recommend a stop here for a tasting. They have some nice gifts as well, including amazing dark chocolate salted caramels. The graphics on the labels are amazing and show real creativity.

Visited right at noon on a weekday. Good wines. Not an overly friendly experience.... A little cold and formal.
Wines were very good, though. Each a unique taste to say the least and most all labels playing off the Wizard of Oz theme.
The only winery I've ever visited that actually tries to charge you for winery corks. And, their winery sticker is $2.75. Puh-Leeze! Both the corks AND for sure the sticker are advertising your business! And you want the customer to pay to advertise your business for you?

The place is perfect going of a theme of the wizard of OZ all there bottles have a unique name/label based of it like Squished Witch. They are all different types of table wines not aged they all still have a unique delicious taste. They have a free limited tasting perfect for me as we came into town as a day trip. Seems like it would also be a fun place to just sit and have a glass with maybe some of there artisan cheese or chocolate. Bottle prices are reasonable with the quality of the blend and the creative oz theme. If I’m ever back in town will be back though definitely at some point will

The hostess was very friendly and explained which grapes were used for each wine. The problem is that we are used to tasting wine from wine glasses, not from plastic thimbles. The quality to price ratio for these wines seems unfavorable for the buyer. The novelty factor and cute lables work well for this winery. The wine was mediocre, and we can buy a better Merlot for $22.

I was not a big fan of the wine here but, it is cute place with charm and the wine flight trees are pretty cute.
The wine is decent and we had partaken after the Oz Museum, and relaxed and had some wine.
Why 4 stars if not a fan of wine? Well wine is like art can be very subjective and this place had it going on from service to their little store offering chocolates, and local goods.
It was a great place to take a break before heading to lunch at Toto's Taco's.
Kudos OW!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff and delicious wine. The tasting prices are reasonable, so you can try as many as you like without feeling guilty. The cherry on top is that THEY SHIP!
The only reason I gave four stars is due to the lack of variety (maybe 13 wines total). This may have just been due to the time of year, but I did not inquire.

Oz Winery ha a nice tasting room, good cheese & crackers available, pleasant pourers (albeit uninformed about the wine, grape types or methods for making their wines). Oz does have Very clever wine names & labels which make me smile.
You must like sweet wine to enjoy this vintner-
I can compare this wine to more of a Honey mead- which is pleasant to drink, light, sweetness to every variety. Not what I would buy but not a bad experience

We stopped in to check out Oz Winery during our time touring through Wamego checking out the Oz sites and were not disappointed! They had a wide variety of wines to choose from-- the first 2 samples are free, which was all I needed to find the perfect bottle! If you do need more samples you can do wine flights, 3 for $8 or 5 for $15. My favorites were Home and Yellow Brick, the latter of which I purchased! The bartender/cashier was very friendly and helpful in picking out the wines, describing their aromas and flavors and helping us with our experience! If I'm ever in Wamego again with time

Stopped by to revisit after having been there years before. Shared some memories for which they could have cared less. Horrible atmosphere, zero info on the wines and a very uncomfortable feeling that we were somehow interrupting something. And no, you don't ever get used to Grace just standing behind the bar staring off into space and saying nothing. Huge disappointment. Planned on buying a few wines, ended up getting nothing. Go somewhere else so you won't bother them or keep them from their whatever they were doing.

Good wines but not a real inviting place! Can't stand the signs on the tables saying the tables are for people ordering wines. Is the place that busy where you need those signs? It sure wasn't when we stopped in. If you need those signs on busy days then by all means use them. But other days it makes people feel uncomfortable with your establishment!!! I wanted to order some chocolate and sit and eat it but didn't because I felt I would have not been invited at the tables. Also there were two employees there on the weekday we dropped in. Both employees were not friendly at all

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, took the time to ask about our preferences before suggesting wines. Each person 21 & over gets 2 one oz tastes of wine. We ordered a flight of 2 oz of each of 5 wines so that we could try a few more. We also had some local cheese and some candy, had a nice relaxing time enjoying the food, wine and atmosphere. The wine was very good, and we took home 3 bottles.

Such a lovely and sweet little establishment! My husband and I were looking for a few bottles of Oz wine to take home from a recent trip and ended up spending about an hour there and purchasing some nice things to be shipped home. Our sommelier, Brooke, was very helpful, incredibly friendly and a lot of fun. She allowed for us to sample several wines of varying tastes and even included some caramel chips to bring out the flavor in a dessert wine we tried. She absolutely went above and beyond in helping us choose without just telling us what to buy.

This is a fun and enjoyable place! The atmosphere is awesome but also so is there customer service. I was planning a surprise visit for my boyfriend so I had a few question. They're great with responding quickly to emails and addressing any questions or concerns. When we arrived (an hour 1.5 early), the staff was so welcoming and actually excited we showed up so early. That gave us more time to enjoy everything. The wine selection is nice and everything is tasty. I will visit again but I'll also be ordering the squished witch online.
