Services
The JLU curriculum meets and exceeds NY state early education standards. Using her strong educational background and experience in early childhood education, the center director develops and continuously monitors the curriculum for classrooms at JLU program. The director has successfully woven together age appropriate developmental goals, academic goals and faith fundamentals into a fun and engaging curriculum.
JLU Child Care is proud to use the NYS Pyramid Model framework as a guide to help develop social emotional competence in our students. The Pyramid Model is a three-tiered framework for supporting the social and emotional development of the children in our care. Our program promotes engagement in learning by building positive relationships between children, families, and staff; the first tier of the Pyramid.
JLU babies receive nurturing and care that resembles life at home. The development of each child is fostered and measured to make sure each one is reaching their God given potential. Infant classrooms have a maximum of 8 children in the room, with a teacher to student ratio of 1:4.
We recognize the importance of individualized attention in the infant classrooms and practice primary care, meaning your child will be primarily cared for by one assigned teacher.Teachers will provide encouragement to children as they achieve milestones in this classroom including: smiling, lifting head, grasping with hands, babbling, rolling over, sitting up, crawling, waving, standing, singing, climbing, and walking.

Our before and after care program is only available to students in the Spencerport Central School District.

Update: I have now been at JLU for 10 years - and nothing has changed!! 💛💜

I just celebrated 5 amazing years of employment at JLU in July. I could not think of a better place to spend my days. The environment is unlike any other I have ever experienced. I never imagined that in my place of employment I would be able to publicly share my faith with my co-workers (judgment free), participate in a Bible study together, or pray with the children in my classroom before every meal. The program here really is top quality. Between the detailed lesson plans, developmental

It's truly is a blessing to be part of a workplace where faith is at the core. Faith formation goes beyond "bible time" & the curriculum and is woven into every aspect of the center both for the kids learning to fellowship with co-workers. JLU is a Pyramid Model site and the kiddos benefit from this approach that supports Social-Emotional learning/development starting at an early age. JLU truly is an unique one-of-a-kind place in the Rochester area!

JLU is outstanding.
The staff is welcoming, always so kind and a joy to be around! JLU is Christian based and shows God's and Jesus's love.
The owner Mrs.Ball is very responsive and always at her toes making sure everything is in standing order including following all state guidelines. She also makes sure all staff are properly trained in all areas regarding the kids in there care.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at JLU. My daughter attended Pre-K and her teachers were excellent. The curriculum, lesson plans, meal plans - all were thoughtful and meaningful. She loved going to school every day! The staff maintained regular communication & I always felt that I knew what was going on. Highly recommend!

We were able to attend JLU for 2 yrs and it was a wonderful experience. My daughter started when she was 2 yrs old so she was able to experience the toddler and preschool rooms. We had our son during the 2 yrs so he was able to experience the infant room for 8 or so months. We loved that all the teachers at JLU just truly love and care for the kids. I was skeptical at first putting my kids into a "daycare center" because we had previously been used in home care providers. It was amazing to see how much the teachers really loved their "jobs"! The assistant director was also wonderful with showing

My son is a busy, active, wiggly little guy who has trouble sitting still during circle time, and he often demands justification for "why" he has to sit still, etc. Despite these challenges, the teachers at JLU have been patient, optimistic, and encouraging. He truly feels loved and cared for, and I love bringing him. Because he is so loved, he has grown emotionally and is on his way to being a strong student. He has thrived in their program and is definitely Kindergarten ready. He can count to 100, knows over 30 site words, can sound out words, knows common (and some peripheral)

JLU is the the ideal place to give children a positive and Christian based first school experience. The teachers are caring and engaging, while teaching the building blocks of life. The owners have a large family of their own, and the love they share with their own children carries over into the care provided at JLU through each teacher and classroom.

My twins have gone to JLU since they were six months old, they are now almost two. I can not say enough positive things about the facility, the staff and how well my children have adjusted. Because of JLU my children eat a variety of foods, are well socialized and are always willing to try new things. My babies love "school"!

JLU is a great childcare. Both of my children have gone here since shortly after their birth. The owner Leslie and her husband Mark are both very nice people. Some of their children go to the daycare as well. When JLU has family events throughout the year, it is nice to meet some of my daughters friends and parents. It feels like a real community.
