Our fist step is to tear off existing roof to bare decking. We are one of the few companies in Texas, especially in grayson county, that actually follows this procedure. Although it is not required in this state, it is the proper way to replace a roof.
Of course we could save time and a little money on labor by just overlaying shingles on the existing roof, or even over the existing underlayment, but how would we be able to inspect for any rotted wood or lay shingles on a smooth surface like manufacturers suggest?That is a question that isn't often brought to homeowners attention because the main focus is usually on the price or the color options of new shingles.

Fantastically well!!
David, the owner, returned my call for help within hours of getting it, inspected my roof to ID the origin of my leak, photo'd the culprit and two other sites on the roof that will need attention soon, and FIXED the leak less than 48 hours later, on a Saturday!! We discussed upgrading my roof soon and he educated me on options with detailed pros and cons of each one.
I have had experience with great roofing companies (for shingle replacements and for a whole metal residential roof) and few low quality ones, too. I am thoroughly pleased with Total Home Roofing.

Worked with with David who was very responsive and considerate. He did what he said he would do and did it when he said he would do it. He promptly sent Jordon out to inspect my brand new leaking roof. David gave me two options and recommended we start with the least expensive option first. He then offered to apply that cost to the more expensive option if we ended up needing to do the more extensive repair. Jordon was so friendly and courteous and arrived on time as promised. Am so satisfied with the service and honesty I experienced. Priceless.

David made it easy! He communicated with the insurance adjuster and explained exactly how It was going to happen and made it as smooth as possible. He took his time on getting colors selected and made sure we were informed of what would happen and when. He showed up with a 10 man crew and got the old roof removed and the new one on in two days (quite an accomplishment for my large steep roof).
I have been in and around the building business for over 20 years and not all roofing jobs are created equal. There are any number of ways to cut corners, from using staples instead of nails or low grade
