Services
Dogwood Veterinary Clinic is a full-service small animal veterinary hospital created by husband and wife team Drs. Chris and Katie Franklin. This clinic was created to provide top of the line veterinary care to anyone in the Crestwood, Prospect and Louisville areas. We will provide current, premier medical care, in addition, customer service is of the utmost importance to us.
Dr. Chris is originally from Georgetown, Kentucky. He attended Murray State University where he received a B.S. in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and minors in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Chris is a 2015 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing an equine internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital he elected to make a career change and pursue practice in small animal medicine.
Wellness exams help us to monitor the health of your pet and can help us detect disease in its earliest stages, so that we can help to keep your pet as healthy as possible. Pets age comparatively much faster than we do, in one year an animal generally ages 5-7 "pet years". For this reason we recommend bi-annual examinations.

Even though we live in Indiana my daughter insisted I take my fur baby to Dogwood Vet Clinic and I’m so happy I did! Dr. Chris and his entire staff are fabulous! I love that they actually took the time to talk with me and not at me during our first visit. My tiny Maltese, Rudy, goes on Tuesday to be neutered and Dr. Chris is the only vet I trust to do the surgery. This place is amazing! ❤️

Let me first start by saying that the staff is incredibly friendly and Dr. Chris is great, however today will be my last visit to Dogwood due to the cost continually being excessive. I took my dog in for a nail trim, which wasn’t done well as there were several nails that didn’t appear to be touched and a shot for allergies. I was charged $30 for a… tech consultation?! I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous! They did nothing more than carry my dog to the back to trim his nails and administer the shot. My bill was $102 for these 2 things. This is significantly more than other

First impressions started with a phone call -- they were quick to respond to my request -- and it only got better from there.

Piss poor job! Our visit started off great when I checked in but after that until the end was terrible. All you can hear is the vet guy yelling at his staff and appearing as if he hates his job. If I were those ladies; I’d leave in a heart beat. With animals, they seem okay but didn’t care for the vet and it appears the vet probably doesn’t care about this either. Seems to be too much money orientated not service oriented. Like I said; only exceptional service was when I walked through the doors. Everything after; garbage.

The doctors and staff at Dogwood are kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable professionals. They take the time to make sure my cats are well-treated and answer all of my questions. I appreciate that they provide me a complete summary of the visit, instructions for aftercare, and help administering medications. The office maintains regular contact to ensure treatment is effective and make adjustments as needed. They may be more expensive than other offices, however, the frequent communication decreases the need for unnecessary in-office visits. Highly recommend this practice.

My 7 1/2 year old dog was spayed here today. I don’t have children, so this dog is my little love! I was a nervous wreck. Megan talked to me a couple days before on the phone to walk me through each step to make sure I was comfortable. We talked for more than 25 minutes. She never made me feel like I was taking up her time. The care they provided, the kindness, the understanding... unmatched. I can’t say enough positive things! They saw my big guy last minute and we weren’t even patients there! Dr. Chris and his staff saved Big Ed’s life and I am so very thankful! I stumbled upon this clinic when my previous vet was out of the office with COVID and I can’t say enough good things about Dogwood! Their facility is clean, which is so important during COVID, their staff is so kind and always goes above and beyond with and requests or questions. Dr. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely cares about my animals and always takes the time to explain each procedure, medication, or inquiry I have. From teeth extractions and anesthesia to general care, there is no place I trust more than Dogwood!

Highly recommend! Over 30 years and five dogs, this is the best vet we have ever had. Our golden doodle had (we thought) an eye infection earlier this week. Called them at 4 PM and we were asked to describe symptoms and send a photo. They called back in three minutes and fit us in that day. Turns out it was an ulcer on her eye, which is really painful, and their responsiveness was so appreciated. Bailey loves the staff there, too!
