Services
Common Threads was founded by Chef Art Smith, artist Jesus Salgueiro and Linda Novick O'Keefe in 2003. After Chef Art and Jesus spent time cooking for New York families impacted by 9/11, they were inspired by the power of food to heal by bringing people together by celebrating traditions and understanding culture while enjoying the benefits of healthy, nutritious meals.
After an entire year of social distancing, masking up, and striving to remain connected digitally, our Common Threads family has found new ways of digging in and reaching out. Calls, Zooms, Teams, Slack, Google Meets, one-on-ones, panels, roundtable conversations and grocery deliveries became the new way of connecting and making it happen.
Common Threads offers a variety of resources for children, parents and educators from hundreds of healthy recipes, to professional development and training as well as free interactive cooking videos and classes. Learn more about all of the resources available to you today. Easy, healthy snacks, entrees, desserts, drinks and so much more!
One of our strongest assets is our team of A-Players - passionate, talented and hard working employees located throughout the United States. Organizational health and employee satisfaction at the core of our organizational values (check out what our employees say about us on Indeed and Glassdoor!)
This in-school, after-school and summer program teaches PreK-8th grade students about nutrition and healthy cooking through a series of eight lessons combining nutrition and snack making. The lessons are aligned to local education standards. The lessons give students the opportunity to connect math, language arts, and science concepts to interactive experiences that provide tools to live longer, healthier lives.

Its a charity about food. About teaching. About health. About low income kids and about making sure they can grow to be healthier adults. They teach them so they know how to cook. So they know how to take care of themselves and be good to themselves. They can celebrate their ethnic diversity.

Their events are lovely, went to one tonight. If you even like to have good food, it was amazing. 20 different chefs and restaurants all serving up some great
