This place is hands down my favorite place to stay when out working on the road. The owners are just amazing. We were working super long hours and one evening we knew it was going to be late. Everything closes up early in that little town. Anyway I called the office and they went out and they got us chicken. It is things like that they do. It was nice walking into the room and having hot waiting there for us. They just help. If I am working within 1 hour of this place it will be where I stay. If they have a room. It is very popular

My all time favorite place to stay when coming to Chester. It’s also really clean and the prices are more than reasonable! The owners are welcoming and always in a great mood. Even if they don’t have rooms they have went out of there way to make a list of nearby hotels/motels to try. We will definitely be back!

This place is amazing. The owners are very friendly and helpful when you might have forgot a few things. My second time staying at the establishment and just as pleased with the service as the first time. Rooms give you that cabin on the lake feel. And free range to the bbqs at night are a wonderful addition. Will be returning for years to come.

Great cheap place to stay! Little bit of a drive to Lassen but the drive is gorgeous so I didn't mind. Had a fridge and microwave. Bought groceries at local market. Wifi was great. Even sat outside and used it.

I loveeeeed this place. It's country, it's homey, it's beautiful, peaceful, everything you could ask for. If you like the country life and you don't care about luxury you would love this place. The owner, Al was amazing. He makes you feel at home and is really nice and attentive. 5 stars to this place. Better than any "five star" hotel. There's also bbqs outside, tables, grill and small basketball quart with a basket ball. Give this place a chance.

A cool tip about this place, in the office, while checking in check out the big rack of dvds movies that you can

I cannot believe the kindness of the owners here. I walked in haggard after traveling for a day with my kiddo and they just got right up and said, how an we help? Our room was adorable, the place was quiet, they recommended some great Mexican food. They were just so kind.

This unassuming old-style motor lodge looked a little worn on the outside, but what wouldn't after a rough winter of 11 ft of snow! The owners, Al and Kathy were very friendly and helpful hosts. The room was very clean, comfortable and had updated fixtures. heater worked well , this is a good value for the price.

My wife and I, and our kids and grandkids just enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Cedar Lodge. Al and Katherine are wonderful and gracious hosts, making our stay relaxing and pleasant. The rates are very reasonable ($102/night with kitchen, our son's room, #7 was $70/night and this was over a July weekend !), rooms were clean and well maintained. The grounds are park-like with lawn, BBQ's, a tree fort for the kids, basketball hoop and more. Our unit #4, had the kitchen. This is very much a mountain style motel with pecky cedar wood paneling, and classic mountain motifs in decor. You know

I stayed at Cedar Lodge a few years ago before we moved to Chester area. It was a snowshoe weekend in January. The owner was very friendly. The room was cosy & comfortable.
It's a great place for sportsmen & women. Snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing out the front door. Plenty of room for boats in the summer.
An all around pleasant place to stay!

Good Value, close to lake, 5 minute drive to town, easy access to Lassen Park. Owner has been there for 15 years, Honest and straigtforward fellow. Older buildings but clean and comfortable. We are an older couple and stay at Cedar Lodge whenever we are in the area. We've stayed there before, and are likely to stay there again. There are no 5 star hotels in the area, so we feel 4 stars is the best rating we can give though we have no complaints or negative criticism.

The location is absolutely beautiful, the rooms and simple but clean, and the owners are extremely friendly. When checking in, I mentioned we had just finished a long drive, so the owner just handed me a key and told me I can pay and fill out the paperwork later, after I've rested. It's a 5 minute drive from downtown Chester, and a 15 minute drive to Lake Almnaor beaches...

Love this place! We visited Lake Almanor for a wedding and needed a place to stay. The first place I called was asking $159 for a basic room. Thank goodness I found the The Cedar Lodge. It ended up saving us almost $100. The rooms were basic but extremely clean, and the hosts were very friendly! We'll be back!

I would recommend Cedar Lodge to anyone who needs a clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay near Lassen. Katherine, the hostess, was incredibly helpful when we were trying to book things for our trip & even called me the day before we arrived to let us know there had been some heavy smoke blowing in from fires to the south & they would totally understand if when we got there we were overwhelmed by the smoke & decided to stay somewhere else. (We weren't -- the town just smelled a little like camp fire.) She held our reservation when I told her we were running late & stayed

Ok.. so I am the husband. A few things worth mentioning includes late night walks after everyone else is asleep is the plethora of astronomical points of light in the evening sky. You don't see this living near urban locations and thus it makes it quite unusual, and yet beautiful. Make sure to eat steak, drink some suds and look for Bingo somewhere in town. If nothing else, there is an amazing huge freshwater lake you can rent a motorboat and buzz around till you're sick of it. (I wouldn't rent for more than two hours). Bring the pet, no matter what size or what number.

I seem to channel my inner redneck sometimes when it's my turn to pick the hotel, as my husband has noticed. The Cedar Lodge Motel in Chester is a perfect case for his point. I loved this motel--from the woodsy-piney decor, to the 5 mile mountain bike trail right outside the door, to the fact that our doggie could stay with us, to the location way the hell out in North-Eastern Cali that almost no one ever visits.

King bedrooms for $52 plus tax? I'm a happy camper!
