Are you stressed, tired, or in pain? In today's busy society it's very easy to put yourself last and ignore the early signs of distress that your body is sending. Headache, tiredness, aches and pain, insomnia, inability to conceive and digestive disorders are all the body's ways of telling you that it's time to pay attention.

A survey of people who receive acupuncture, conducted by Claire Cassidy Ph. D., indicates that they see their physicians less frequently and use fewer medications. In addition, over two thirds of those surveyed reported having avoided recommended surgery. Our treatment rooms create a tranquil environment where you can let go of the daily stress.

Alina Betsis is a Licensed Acupuncturist who is passionate about her work and dedicated to her patients. She has helped many people with various physical and emotional problems ranging from back pain and headaches to infertility, depression and insomnia. Alina believes that health is not only defined by the absence of pain but it is also composed of vitality of the body, mind and spirit.
Acupuncture is a powerful system of medicine practiced for over 3000 years. It is based on the principle that life and health are sustained by the smooth flow of Qi (pronounced 'chee') or vital energy, which travels through the body via pathways called meridians. When the flow of Qi becomes disrupted it manifests as pain or disease of body and /or mind.
University of Maryland School of Medicine doctor answers questions on treatment: Acupuncture, the traditional Chinese medicine that uses needles for treatment, is increasingly being used with cancer patients. Antidepressants are among the most prescribed medications in the U.S.-but instead of popping a pill to relieve symptoms - some people are turning to alternative therapies such as acupuncture.
The sensations that patients experience during acupuncture range from nothing at all to a brief localized ache or heaviness. Some points are more sensitive than others. By and large patients describe the initial sensations as fleeting and the long term sensations as deeply relaxing. After the needles are inserted, most patients fall asleep during the session and report a sense of renewal and ease at the conclusion of a treatment.

I really enjoy my sessions with Dr. Betsis. She really listens to what the problem is. She has solved the problem that I had with menopause. I have little to no hot flashes. I suffer from Extrinsic Asthma which she has put me in a better place with my asthma. I had a upper back problem which is resolved. Her technique is unbelievable and I am much better because of it.
I am grateful to have met her. She is truly an expert.

I've been seeing different acupuncturists for the past 11 years since I've been diagnosed with a serious illness. The acupuncture was always very helpful, but only when I started seeing Alina around 2 years ago, I realized how truly powerful, effective and diverse this tool is. I am convinced that the quality of acupuncturist is making all the difference. Alina is very talented, intuitive and passionate acupuncturist. She really cares about her patients: she is compassionate, supportive and joy to be around.
Alina was able to help me with such a myriad of health issues, it's mind boggling: from

My first visit to the Baltimore Wellness Acupuncture was about six years ago. I had an ACL reconstruction surgery on my right knee. The surgery went well, but swelling did not go away. I could not bend my knee without feeling pain. Anti-inflammatory pills didn't help. Friend of mine suggested to do the acupuncture treatment at the Baltimore Wellness Acupuncture. At first, I was very skeptical and didn't believe that treatment would help to get rid of the swelling, but decided to give it a try. My acupuncturist Alina Betsis did her magic and after the first visit I was able to bend my knee without

I have been going to Acupuncture sessions with Alina Betsis for a couple of years now and will continue going in years to come. She addressed and helped me treat an ongoing issue that could not be solved with medications. Unlike medications, she does not just mask the problem, but rather finds it's root and treats it. Now, I continue going to Alina to maintain an overall and a healthy lifestyle.

Alina is amazing! She is knowledgable and thorough in her diagnosis and weekly (or bi-weekly) check-ins. She creates a professional, relaxing environment for her clients. Before meeting Alina, I suffered from aura migraines once a month for 5 days for the past 5 years. Because of Alina's expertise, I have not had a migraine, tension headache, or sinus headache in 4 months. I highly recommend her to anyone suffering with chronic pain.
