Services
I am a Marin County licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Rafael. I work with individuals and couples seeking help and support with a wide range of issues. I received a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy's Transpersonal Psychology program in Contra Costa, California.
The heart and emphasis of my work is to help you know and trust your deepest feelings and to live an emotionally authentic life. When you become more intimate and present with yourself you become more intimate and authentic with others. Sustaining an intimate connection with yourself and others can be challenging with the stress and demands of daily life.
Intimate relationships are a powerful opportunity for personal growth and transformation. According to the ever-growing field of attachment theory, the key issue in relationship conflict is the security of the emotional bond between couples. When this emotional bond becomes uncertain, tenuous or threatened, it sets in motion a natural human response of separation distress.
If you've been betrayed, the discovery of an affair can be one of the most devastating experiences of your life. Even if you've suspected your partner's been unfaithful, you may feel utter disbelief and shock when it's confirmed. Usually, there's an initial flood of intense feelings such as hurt, rage, jealousy, fear, humiliation, confusion and deep grief.
My compassionate style of working combines a psychodynamic, experiential and somatic approach to psychotherapy. I have training in the Hakomi Method and utilize this mindfulness-based, somatic approach in my work. In a safe, supportive environment your vital concerns will be welcomed and respected.
