We had Ed Salazar from Bascom Grooms Realty as our realtor and we were very pleased with his services. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. When I would call Ed and he was in a meeting and he would text me that he would call me right after. He would call me back every time. I thought he was very professional. We had a tricky double transaction, which we were selling and buying at the same time (which was extremely stressful for my wife and I). This last winter my wife and I decided to sell our home in Key West, one we owned and loved for close to 30 years. We asked a good friend if he could recommend a realtor to us, and without hesitation he mentioned Bascom Grooms, the broker in his firm. Our friend named a few other possibilities, but he quickly returned to Bascom. It was a wise choice.

I can say this from personal experience. When my wife and I moved to Key West, we rented at first. Thanks to local connections (from my job) we got Bascom's name. He helped us navigate the market and find a dream home within our price range- which isn't easy in this market.
With all the issues in Key West (taxes, permits, insurance, the differences between Old Town, Mid Town, and New Town) that come with buying a home, it helps to have someone who knows this market

Bascom was great! He helped my friends purchase a condo in Old Town Key West and was highly recommended by them. I decided to work with him on with my 1st purchase after meeting a few agents and just really clicked with Bascom. It was my 1st home in the Keys and I could not be happier with him and his team (Lori & Meghan). He is a local so really knows the island. I wasn't sure if I wanted Old Town or New Town and we looked at lots of places til I found the one. His advice in the offer process was great and I got the house. He has also helped me after the sale with contractor contacts

He is a small office, and we had trouble getting a response in a timely manor. Lori was often blamed for that failure, but seriously, Bascom himself has his name on the business. He sold a freind his house in New Town, and never mentioned the insurance rates were going up Oct first. the sale went through in August, and now our freind has a huge premium to pay. Bascom knew about this change, and never mentioned it during the sale.
I am definitely buying within the year, but not through Bascom Grooms.
