The definition of Chiropractic is simple: A philosophy, art and science dedicated to the detection and correction of Vertebral Subluxation in order to eliminate nerve interference allowing the innate intelligence of the body to heal and self regulate. Despite the simplicity of this definition, there is more confusion about Chiropractic and Chiropractors today than ever before.
A Vertebral Subluxation, commonly referred to simply as a Subluxation is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) shift from their natural alignment and create interference with nerve impulses as they travel though the spinal cord and out a spinal nerve. Spinal Nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine.
In the early 20th century, Dr. Charles Mayo, physician, surgeon, and cofounder of the famed Mayo Brothers Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, brought his wife for treatment to the Dr. B.J. Palmer Chiropractic Research Clinic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Mayo had taken his wife to other physicians, including doctors in Europe, all distinguished diagnosticians and specialists.
I often hear people ask the question, "Why would a child need to see a Chiropractor?" Children have spines that protect their spinal cord and support their body just the same as adults. As a parent, if you knew that your child had a vertebra that was not sitting in proper alignment that could potentially be interfering with the nerve transmissions of the spinal cord, would you want to leave it there until it caused significant damage?

I love going to Dr. J. He has a great solo practice and always gives you the time, attention and care you need. I really like the way he has “open” office hours, too. It’s really convenient for someone like me, whose schedule can change in the blink of an eye. I always feel well taken care of. And his office staff is always super friendly and helpful!

I can recommend Jenkins Family Chiropractic without reservation. Five stars! The staff and Dr. Jenkins are kind and genuinely care. Although I was a skeptic about chiropractic care in the beginning, I have now been seeing Dr. Jenkins for many years. He always takes the time to address my concerns and to educate me, as well. Since I have been receiving chiropractic care, I have notice a vast improvement in my overall health. My immune system has definitely the better for it! Please give Dr. Jenkins a try. I love going to Dr. Jenkins! After years of back trouble, Dr, Jenkins was not only able to help me but he explained in detail what was causing my pain. The office is comfortable and the staff goes beyond to make you feel welcome. My kids get adjusted as well and look forward to going there every time. They actually try to stay as long as possible! Can’t say that about any other doctors’ offices they’ve been too. It also very convenient as once you have your initial visit, you can go and get adjusted anytime they are open. No appointment needed! As a super-busy, full time working mom, convenience

My son and I saw Dr Jenkins and couldn’t be more pleased. This is a very welcoming office and they really listen to you as a patient.
