Established in Norfolk, Virginia in 1958, Capes Shipping Agencies has maintained an excellent reputation by consistently delivering reliable and proficient ship agency services to our Principals around the world. Our operations currently cover the ports of the U.S. mid-Atlantic, Gulf Coast, and the Pacific Northwest.

For over half a century, Capes has been setting the standard for ship agency, freight forwarding, and logistics transportation management.
Capes was founded in 1958 by Captain Rolando Perasso, a native of Chiavari, Italy, as a full-service ship agency and bulk forwarder based in Norfolk, Virginia. The venture, known among industry circles as "The Ship's Company", quickly became a fixture in the Italian coal trade. Since that time, we have diversified our portfolio of business and now serve a wide range of cargoes, vessel interests, and trades.

Mike serves as President & CEO of Capes Shipping Agencies and its parent company CV International, Inc., a family owned full-service global logistics provider. He started working at CV International in 1996 in ocean documentation and, after working in various capacities within the organization, was named president in 2006.
