Services
Chris and Renae started adventuring long before they met, and WAY before owning and operating the River's Edge was even an idea. Each grew up doing all the things - kayaking, fly fishing, musky hunting, hiking, camping, canoeing, cycling, and sky diving, until their paths met and the adventure together began.
That means whether you're enjoying a lazy float down the river, on a multi-day paddle on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage, or cruising the bike trails, safe and responsible practices are critical. Observing the simple guidelines and regulations set in place by our company, our partners at the DNR, and state or national law, will help keep you safe and ensure that our wonderful Northwoods is taken care of as well.
Whether you have your own gear, or are renting some of ours, we can get you and your stuff there and back again. We can haul just about any mix of gear and people, within reason, to all of the common locations in the Northwoods, including some of the more obscure ones. It's always a good idea to call us when you have a plan that might include shuttle services.
Lodging at River's Edge is every bit a Northwoods experience. We're happy to offer the Northwoods Adventure Loft, a comfy, cozy room for two, and three full hook-up campsites. Located in the main lodge, our Northwoods Adventure Loft is perfect for a weekend getaway or an extended trip to the Northwoods.
Whether you're out for a paddle around the lake or grabbing a rod and fishing around the dock, the Heron 9 is excellent all-around kayak. With a compact, sporty design the Heron is an affordable, easy-to-paddle kayak that can track well yet maneuver with ease. Perfect for beginning paddlers who are seeking a stable, light weight kayak that was designed for having fun on the water.

I purchased the kayak and bike package with my family today. The staff at River’s Edge was knowledgeable, friendly and punctual. The river was clean and peaceful. I had never used an electric bike, the staff was helpful and patient with me. The bike trail was safe, well maintained and beautiful. River’s Edge made our northern adventure a great success, I definitely recommend their business.

We took a double kayak from the lodge to the first take out point (~1 hour downstream); we would have gone to the second (2-3 hours) but a storm was coming in. It was a great beginner route, the river views were stunning. The service was excellent, they had the boat ready to go at the launch, they picked us up at the take out point 5 minutes after we called for pickup. They also have a nice selection of craft beer at the lodge. We will definitely rent here again on our next trip.

I’ve used River’s Edge for rental services several times now and they ALWAYS exceed my expectations. Equipment is clean and in good condition, Chris and his crew are exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, the area is gorgeous...I cannot recommend this place enough. Plus, I rented a tent from them on an emergency basis when torrential October rain threatened to ruin our camping trip and their brand-new MSR tent kept us warm and dry for the rest of the weekend. Go here - you won’t be disappointed.
