Congregational Preschool is celebrating its 59th Birthday this school year! In 1962 the school opened its doors in the very same location as it is today in La Crosse, WI. Much has changed, but we still hold the same values of education and child development as we did in 1962.
Today we offer non-denominational preschool programs for children aging 2 to 5 with the flexibility of both morning and afternoon classes, embracing small class sizes and a unique hands-on approach. We also offer before and after school care. Families enjoy a family-style atmosphere, with each teacher holding a Bachelor's degree in education and years of experience.

Services
Congregational Preschool is a state-licensed, non-denominational, non-profit organization. We operate from September to May and generally follow the major vacation dates of the La Crosse public schools. We offer unique morning or afternoon classes run by long-tenured, highly educated staff for ages 2.5 to 5, including our publicly-funded 4K program.
During arrival time, children get ready for their day at school by hanging up their coats, putting their backpacks underneath their cubbies, checking their daily job and reading the message board. Once the children have completed their arrival tasks they then do quiet activities until all their friends have arrived.
Children do not need to be completely toilet trained at the time of enrollment due to parental involvement in the class. Three-year-olds may attend two half-days or three half-days weekly in one of the following class sessions. As a participant in the Community Collaboration for 4 Year Olds, Congregational Preschool provides a four-year old kindergarten class through state funding.
Our unique Lunch Bunch program provides Congregational Preschool students of all ages the opportunity to spend mealtime with their peers, learn social skills and healthy eating habits, and participate in programmed activities.
Lunch Bunch offers an opportunity to working parents who may need to use their lunch hour to pick up or drop off their children from preschool or those who stay at home a little additional time to run errands or spend time with younger siblings.

This is the La Crosse School District's publicly-funded program held right here at Congregational Preschool! This means that families receive free tuition for 4K, get district care and quality curriculum, yet enjoy our small class sizes, long-tenured staff, and family culture that makes Congregational Preschool so unique.

I like the small class sizes, the caring staff, and the Surround Care option. The curriculum incorporates lots of art and music, indoor and outdoor play, and weekly thematic units. Because it is solely a preschool, everything on the playground is their size, and they are out there every day. My son loves it, as did his dad and uncle before him! All in all it's a great introduction to school for young children.

My 3 year old son struggled with separation anxiety of being away from mom at the start of preschool last fall. The teachers and staff at Congregational Preschool went above and beyond to show him kindness and make him feel comfortable. They went out of their way to find out his interests and continually engage with him. It did not take long at all for him to warm up and now he LOVES coming to "school"! The sincere care extended to him at Congregational Preschool and the amount of effort invested in students is not found at any other preschool. Not only that, but he comes home and talks about new

Congregational is an awesome preschool! My son is in his second year there, and he absolutely loves it. The classes are small, so he gets a lot of personal attention, and the staff is unbelievable - so warm and caring. We will be sad to leave Congregational when he moves on to kindergarten next year.
