Loved this restaurant ! Went for my sisters birthday and the food and drinks were amazing. Good and strong drinks! The food and sushi were delicious!!!! Good music and beautiful interior design! would definitely go back just not on a Friday or Saturday


Reasons why i took off two stars:
-waited almost 4 hours to sit down and eat (never go on a saturday night because they are beyond busyyyyyy and seemed to have a hard time delegating that many people).

-music was so loud i couldn't hear my sever correctly and felt like i was screaming

-we kept telling the waitress there were severe seafood

We love this restaurant. Every time we get a chance we come down from providence. Madelyn is always our waiter and makes our visit very special. We even have her number so when we coming down she sets a table aside for us. The food and staff are amazing. I highly recommend this place.

I have seen pictures and wanted to go there at all cost... and finally for my birthday decided to treat myself and go there... I'm so glad I came here food was great, service was lovely and that drink was not to play with. And any place with cook sushi is a win in my book

Everyone in town was talking about it so why not try it out! Parking is street parking and depending on the time and day you might have to pay. Great vibes as soon you arrive, great music playing the whole night. We arrived at a perfect time because there was a long wait afterwards. So I recommend arriving early. Restaurant seating is pretty crowded, I guess they trying to accommodate their crowd. Drinks were great all night and worth it. Menu is pretty big but what we had was all delicious. If you’re looking for a unique, family-oriented restaurant experience then Vaka is the perfect place! They have a diverse Dominican-Japanese fusion menu offering and kid-friendly dishes as well. Vaka’s drinks, are an experience of their own! It’s a must try!

Please make sure you look out for pricing of what they offer as they have different pricing online and at the actual restaurant, we ended over paying for food drinks and even the tip, they didn't specify that they already charge 18% and we gave a %15 on top of that. Just keep an eye open or go with more money to be prepared. We went back to discuss this and even after that they refused to give back what was over charged so we are now going to report it to the state (making a consumer report) as we don't feel satisfied or treated fairly as customers.

Wish the place was bigger. But the food was amazing definitely going back. The drinks were strong and very tasty. The ambience and music were on point. If you're going for sushi only, it is not a sushi spot it is definitely a fusion between both Spanish culture and sushi. But I definitely cannot wait to go back and try the other dishes.

I liked it because it was loud and every single time it was someone's birthday they would bring out a cow but the food that I ordered wasn't the best the sushi is really expansive for the portions it has 4 pieces of sushi for like 18 dollars but the best sigh that we got was the octopus because the rest of the plates were not that good

We made a birthday reservation for 13 people and they were more than accommodating, we had a hiccup with my group as someone cancel, the manager reached out was incredibly, he was understanding. the food was amazing. The staff was helpful. Definitely Coming back again!!!

Buen ambiente, buen servicio, buena comida y los tragos son riquísimos. They were busy and could've been better, but they did a great job and accommodated 9 of us! We enjoyed celebrating 2 birthdays with the nice music and big show.

Okay let's start from the beginning. We were seated right away (pro) but our server took about 10 minutes to come to our table, and did not introduce herself (con). When we ordered our drinks it took about another 10-15 minutes to receive our drinks and then another 5-7 minutes for our apps, which were really tasty.
About 20 minutes go by or probably more and our server decides to come around again and we told her that we wanted to place our order. My paella came out about 25 minutes later (I am bad at remembering times) but no one else's food came out. The paella was mediocre. The rice did not

The place is nice, good atmosphere.
- I went to dine in and apparently it can be really busy for wake in without reservations. ( I did mine) DONT GO WITHOUT RESERVATIONS ON WEEKENDS😜
- they have really creative way to bring the drink and this its the attractive way to get your attention
- it can be really crowded, the point that you can not talk coz is a lot of people talking loud
- the waiters experience, it's dependents. My waiter it was not friendly at all, UT we talk with others and managers and they really nice.
- the food is good, but it can get expensive for the amount of food they

Came to this restaurant once just to have a drink at the bar. Saw all the beautiful food that was coming out of the kitchen and said I have to come back with my husband. So I did! I have to say the drinks are amazing! They all have some type of fun special effect or something to them. The food absolutely beautiful and perfectly put together. Now This is a place to experience! Dominican Japanese fusion. Short wait time with optional indoor/outdoor seating. Indoor layout is vast and seats quite a crowd. Nicely decorated and well lit. After hours the lights dim and music (sometimes a lil louder than needed) plays to dancing fluorescent colors. Waitstaff is incredibly amazing. From appetizers to main course to dessert (if you still have room for some*) You will see how their options are wonderfully delicious. I got the only thing I ordered that was a Bandeja Dominicana (rice,beans,salad,steak and pork rinds) 45 minutes after I order it, the waitress tried to explain that it was a dish hard to assemble and told me that the people that visit the restaurant are the same as usual, and they "know" the food takes a while to be prepared. Awful service...the food had 0 taste. definitely doesn't worth the wait and price.

Drinks was pretty! Place is was pretty but food took a bit too long. By the time we got our food. We weren't even hungry anymore. Was there for about 4 hours... if you're here for the drinks, yes!

Idk this place is not as good as they make it seem. The food is only one star they rushed you out the table, the tables are two close to each other. In the middle of my dinner new people was seated next to me with little kids who were sneezing the whole time.... We were seated next to the window where it was full of flies, I had to shoo the flies away all the time and at the end my mojitos had a fly inside my drink-- I told the waiter about it and he looked at me like I was crazy........


My tip to them is to closed the door and put the AC on and stop being cheep.......

Great vibes, the wait can be a little crazy but we got a table pretty quick! The appetizer was awesome 👏🏽 My drink was excellent but my octopus was a little too chewy and hard and my food wasn’t as warm as I wanted it to be and it kinda felt like it was sitting there for a little bit! I will try coming back at a less busy time.

Food was beautifully plated. The taste was exquisite. Would have given it 5 stars but the food was cold and the restaurant was extremely hot. No air conditioner with outside temperature of 84 degrees at 8:15 pm. I want the come back, but I have to think about it.

Came on a Tuesday shortly after opening. Service was great! Everything came in a timely manner... food was phenomenal!! Drinks...well, I'm drunk. Got the mojito flight & Clasé Azul margarita... get your DD. Highly recommend! No regrets here!!!

Visited 4 times (2 for birthdays). Out of those 4 only actually ate there twice, the other 2 I left prematurely because service was so poor. Servers are kind but everything is slow and inconsiderate of people's time. Once I was told it was a 20 minute wait to be seated and was patient enough to wait 45-50 with 2 young children and then they tell me it will be another hr. I obviously left.

I had this place bookmarked for so long, looking forward to going, and so disappointed once we did. We went on a rainy day, so it was not busy at all, we ordered sushi as well as other items and everything was lackluster in flavor, not good at all.

They get a star for ambiance and another one for food presentation, but i don't think we will be back.

Japu is a much better option for dominican fusion sushi, and for ambiance Terra Luna. With the myriad of options around this place really needs to up it's game.

Service wasn't as prompt as we had hoped but it was worth sticking it out. We were greeted and seated promptly around 3pm. We didn't receive our natural passion fruit juices more than 30 min later. Our apps came about 15 min later and right behind our mains. The sushi came a little later after everything else. Not our preference since we like to pace all the food ordered. Timing matters when your hungry.

Worst service ever!!!! The host sits who she knows before ppl on the waitlist. The server's don't speak english!!!! Everyone who works at this restaurant has a attitude!
Drinks are good. Food is ok.
