Dr. Parks is the only dentist in the Waco area who is designated as a qualified dentist by the AADSM and is board eligible in Dental Sleep Medicine. Our practice is dedicated to providing effective, comfortable Oral Appliances for Obstructive Sleep Apnea patients who cannot tolerate their CPAP units.
These Oral Appliances also effectively treat Snoring problems. They are considered Medical Devices and may be covered by your medical insurance plan. CPAP units effectively treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea when they are used regularly. However, they can be difficult to use, and many patients find the masks and hoses associated with the CPAP units uncomfortable.

You know it instinctively: A good night's sleep is essential for good health. It makes you feel rested and ready to take on the world. Yet many people don't get the sleep they need. Sometimes this is related to sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBD) - their own, or those experienced by their sleeping partners.
Is your snoring disrupting your sleep and that of your spouse? Does your spouse report that you wake up with a start, and appear to stop breathing many times during the night? Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea occurs when your tongue falls back, and your palate drops when you sleep, blocking your airway.
At your initial appointment, Dr. Parks will discuss your concerns about your CPAP and current Obstructive Sleep Apnea treatment or Snoring problem with you. He may request information from your physician or copies of your sleep studies. Dr. Parks will explain Oral Appliance alternatives, and determine if an Oral Appliance might be an appropriate option for you.
