I found Richard Newman, Esq, to be versed in many aspects of the nursing home application process. I would heartily recommend that anyone add Mr. Newman to their list of prospective eldercare attorneys, as he made me feel comfortable, was not high-pressure, was always ready to answer my questions, and made an extra effort to see me through the Medicaid maze to a satisfactory result.
Rich and Michele were so patient with me as I compiled all of my paperwork; they answered all of my questions, kept me informed, and sent me regular updates. They were organized and well-informed, patient with questions, and extremely communicative and responsive. We were just trying to keep our heads above water without going bankrupt while taking care of our family member in a nursing home.

Services
Richard L. Newman, Esq. is the founder of Newman Elder Law, with an office located in Doylestown, PA. Mr. Newman is licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with specialties in senior law and planning for those with needs. His practice serves clients in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs.
The Elder Law Attorney also prepares important estate planning documents, such as Wills, Financial Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Powers of Attorney, and Living Wills. At Newman Elder Law we don't just work with the elderly; we counsel and advise adults of all ages about matters relating to estate planning, asset protection, long term care planning, special needs trusts, and Medicaid planning.
Geriatric Care Management is a field in the health and human services that is dedicated to assisting families who are caring for older relatives, and assisting older people who lack family support or involvement. Family members who are caring for a senior relative often need assistance or have questions about the best practices, and a care manager can help.
It's a puzzle that doesn't seem to have an answer: Senior nursing care is hugely expensive in Pennsylvania, and yet navigating the Medicaid maze can be even more frustrating still. If you have a family member who needs long-term care, the costs can be devastatingly high. Paying privately? That can lead to the depletion of a family's life savings in no time at all.
How do you know if you have the legal authority to make the decisions that are in your loved one's best interest?. In cases where a loved one does not have a Power of Attorney in place and becomes incapacitated to the point of being unable to make decisions about their own health and financial well-being, decisions will need to be made on their behalf.

Never having been through an event such as estate processing before, we were so grateful to have Rich Newman and Michele Malloy guide us through this journey. We can't say enough about the kindness, patience, compassion, and professionalism Rich and Michele exhibited through this experience. They guided us through some very stressful times and family dynamics. We strongly recommend this law firm for any estate planning needs, from the beginning with Wills and POA's straight through to estate processing. This is the place you want to be to take you through this journey. Thank you Rich & Michele

Richard Newman has been my parents’ elder lawyer for many years. He has been professional, caring, and attentive to their needs. For a very reasonable fee, he protected them and their assets during my mother’s lengthy illness. He continued with my father through the selling of his house and moving. My father will reach out to Rich with a question or concern, and he immediately responds and takes care of all legal matters. My family is very thankful that Richard Newman is our attorney.

Rich Newman has been our family lawyer - which includes both my parents and mother- in- law for many years. He has always been professional, well versed in his area of expertise, patient and thorough in his work. This past year, my husband had emergency surgery and when we contacted Rich explaining we needed our living will and advance directive updated within 48 hours he completed everything the next day!
Thank you Rich for all you have done for our family!

Thank you Rich Newman for all the services you provide at very reasonable fees. We began with simple estate planning, but ultimately used your various other services. Carol's guidance and patience proved to be invaluable while going through a very stressful time. You and your staff were always available no matter what issue arose. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

My mother in law was immediately placed into a care facility with Rich's help, and we were able to get her efficiently into the Medicaid program. In addition, the advice and counsel on the estate of her husband was very helpful. Elder law is a little known topic for most; Rich's expertise was needed and spot on.

I first consulted with Richard Newman after my Mother became ill. Rich patiently walked me through the very complicated process of how we should best handle all of her legal/long term planning issues. Rich made a very overwhelming situation much less stressful for my family, explaining the many different options, along with their advantages and disadvantages. I highly recommend Rich Newman and his team.

We were just trying to keep our heads above water without going bankrupt while taking care of our family member in a nursing home, and, at the end of the process, we felt like we accomplished that and more. In fact, we spent less than we thought we would, and our Father is receiving good care. Having Rich walk us through the process step by step helped us feel secure.

Mr Newman was hired by mom to watch over things as her Elder Law Attorney.
He was paid approximately seven thousand dollars. Needless to say he overlooked allot of things. He did nothing to protect her assets for the seven years she lived. We wanted to purchase her home (to infuse cash for her care) He told us we’d have to pay the full appraised value. However, the offer we accepted was $20k less than asking.
