Pediatric Cardiology Center Of Oregon
Pediatric Cardiology Center of Oregon has been caring for children and adults with congenital heart disease in the Pacific Northwest since 1986.

Our pediatric heart program has pioneered many important advances in the treatment of congenital heart disease, including the first Norwood surgical procedure for hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) in Oregon, as well as the first arterial switch operation for transposition of the great arteries (TGA).Since our inception, we have added several board certified cardiologists with a wide range of specialties.
Services
Since 1986, the team at Pediatric Cardiology Center of Oregon (PCCO) has been pioneering important advances in treatment. We performed the first Norwood procedure for hypoplastic left heart syndrome in Oregon as well as the first arterial switch operation for transposition of the great arteries.

In 2016, our very own Dr. James Kyser became the first - and only - pediatric cardiologist in Oregon to provide the Edwards SAPIEN XT transcatheter heart valve procedure for pulmonic valve replacement to pediatric patients.PCCO is equipped to treat the entire spectrum of pediatric cardiology conditions - from innocent murmurs to the most complex congenital heart diseases.
Dr. LeGras is a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and has been with the Pediatric Cardiology Center of Oregon since 1996. He attended McGill University in Montreal for his Bachelor of Science and medical school. He did an internship at the University of Manitoba and his pediatrics residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Toronto, Toronto Hospital for Sick Children.
Please call our office as far in advance as possible to schedule your appointments. This will make it easier to choose times that are most convenient for you and your family. PCCO schedulers can be reached at 503-280-3418. Please have your insurance card available when you call. We will ask for your insurance information upon registering your child for an appointment.
Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in. You will be asked to present your health insurance card, as well as any co-payment, at the time of your visit. Medical Records - If you have any prior medical records of cardiovascular testing your child has received, please let our office know so that we may obtain the records prior to your visit.
Babies are sent here by their pediatricians or family physicians because he or she listened to the baby's chest and heard a noise, otherwise known as a murmur. While most heart murmurs turn out to be innocent, some may indicate a heart problem. That is why it is a good idea to have your baby further evaluated by a pediatric cardiologist.

My daughter was referred here by her pediatrician after seeking a sports physical. We were told it would be about a month for an appointment, which is to be expected for a specialist. When we arrived for our appointment, we were told that Dr. Chang reviewed the chart and didn't realize which member of the family had Long QT Syndrome (me/mother), he said he wouldn't be fit to see us. I don't know anything about how different members of the family having heart conditions affects which pediatric cardiologist a child can see...so anyway the doctor canceled our appointment so we had to

My son had an appt with dr.legras today and I've never had such a dismissive and rude CHILDRENS dr . He belittled the concerns i had regarding my child and bashed his primary care physician for referring him in the first place not to mention his " I'm better than you attitude " If you get referred to this clinic stay far away from Dr.Legras. I will NOT be returning and WILL be getting a second opinion. it's a shame I have to rate the entire clinic so low because front desk and the ultrasound tech i dealt with were very kind and professional

I met with Dr. Yamauchi as a follow up to come concerns around my son's heart health. She is professional, knowledgeable and provided us with immediate feedback on some of our results (additonal results to come after monitoring). The entire experience, from reception to checkout, was positive. The team has a well run organization with great staff. Thank you!!

Dr. Hoyer is an extremely talented cardiologist. Unfortunately, he relocated to Alaska. Quite frankly, I’m not surprised. His replacement , Dr. Urbanelli also seems very qualified and caring. Unfortunately, access to long -term care is extremely limited. Chronic over scheduling is a problem and it takes at least five months to get in. If my daughter needed urgent care it would have to be from the emergency room. The front office is a hot mess. Refuses to schedule appointments when we can make it. Refuses to return calls, EVER. The Physicians and surgeons are brilliant and talented. The continuing

As with many providers at Legacy Health System, this physician is far from professional. He is rude to both the patient and the family. Instead of speaking to the parent of the child regarding that parent's person and familial health history he took the information from the adult who took the child to the appointment & the inaccurate information from the other parent (there is a child custody dispute going on at this time). Then proceeded to bad-mouth the absent parent who wasn't there to defend themselves. This was done in front of the child. When the adult who brought the child

Bad experience. Dismissed a severe medication reaction. We were not listened to. Dr. Marc LeGras has seen my teenage child twice for POTS. he told my son to do daily exercise, drink 80 oz of water daily and take salt pills with every meal and he prescribed a steroid medication. He told us to record this all on a chart. My son did his best (granted, he missed some days of charting and some days he forgot a salt pill or did not quite make his water goal but he is a busy teenage varsity runner struggling with illness and he is human and humans are not perfect. Point is he tried.) At the follow up

Dr. Kyser was assigned to us at Randall Children's hospital in the NICU. He told us of our son Holland''s condition and how he planned to treat it. It is never good news when you find out that your child will require open heart surgery, but I knew we were in good hands. Before our first out patient appointment we had another echo performed to check in on Holland's heart. Dr. Keyser came into the room sharing that his heart looked the same and that Holland was set to have surgery when he was around 12 months. I asked what they symptoms of needing to bring him in were. He explained

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Le Gras' for 13 years. He saved her life and has given her the highest level of skilled care for 13 years. His concern for her well being goes beyond his cardiology specialty and has aided in her growth and development as we navigated through feeding problems, physical and occupational therapy, and allergies to medications. I would never take her elsewhere and highly recommend this cardiology group. We have interacted with all of the physicians in this office, whether it be on rounds or for specialty procedures. They are at the cutting edge of technology
