A loved one of mine was recently at this facility. I was so worried about them being there, especially because there was a previous experience with a different hospital in Colorado Springs and the experience was very negative. very unsafe place with nasty and uncaring staff. Peak View was the opposite of that. They called frequently to relay important information and they even made a safety plan for discharge. Overall the place seemed so much better than a previous experience and I would recommend this facility to anyone needing psychiatric care.

Half of the techs were amazing, half were downright mean. Of the two providers on our ward, the Psych nurse was mean as well, calling patients "fat" or "overweight" and throwing around unofficial diagnoses like bipolar or narcissism. The doctor was even worse. He would go through an entire ward in 10 minutes because he would make up his entire report for each patient and brush off questions. He even told me to wait for an outpatient doctor to fix his medication when I was in pain and couldn't see clearly. We were regularly assigned room time for things as simple as talking in the hallways. Restraining

UPDATE: first of all I want to mention the good things which were nurses Bob and Jesus. Absolutely great advice. Unfortunately unit 300 has been changed and now they are having to put psychotic people in the "quiet unit". Some people from cedar Springs are working there now but it seems like Peak view took the best of the best. Also, there was a shortage of kitchen staff and the hospital was on lockdown because of a covid exposure and we had very bad cold food served in styrofoam containers. It did not seem to have any heat and was cold as an icebox in the rooms and the hallways. I was very disappointed

These people prey on the vulnerable. They hold people beyond what they are legally able to, so they can continue to charge for services you no longer need. They threaten to call the cops on you when you ask too many questions, but not your face! No! They will tell the patient so that the PATIENT can then go out of their way to call and inform you that the staff will call the cops if you keep asking questions... Doesn't matter if you never raised your voice, cursed, or argued with them. They don't want you to ask questions so they just threaten to call the cops on you.

My experience at Peak View was definitely not all bad. A lot of the techs were really great! I absolutely loved the recreational therapists, too but could tell that they weren’t given a lot to work with. The worst part of the experience was the psychiatrist Dr. Sohail Punjwani. No one in my unit had a positive experience with him. He was belittling, aggressive, pushy with medication, and didn’t listen to the needs of the patients.
Then when I research him, I come to find that he has a criminal record! If you do go to Peak View for help, be sure to ask for a different doctor!

Working with Eric Gibbs and his outreach team in regards to sending a referral to admissions/intake has always been an easy transition.
We appreciate their responsiveness and compassion they have exhibited to our clients seeking MH stabilization and Outpatient Services. We will continue to work with Peak View for our clients needing a higher level of care.

I've always had a great experience working with the staff here. They have both inpatient and outpatient IOP services which are badly needed in the community. Their outreach team is great at answering questions and keeping the community updated on programming. Definately recommend them if someone is struggling.

If I could give 0 stars I would. These psychiatrists are terrible. I was given 3 15+ mg meds by the end of my 14 day hospitalization. I was taken off all 3 by an actual psych doc. The techs did nothing but tell us to be quiet. These are literally just underpaid college kids. The outpatient service psychiatrist literally has a DUI and more arrests that can be found online. The food was all canned. There were fights and codes being called daily. This didn't help with my addiction, it actually encouraged me to abuse pills.
I will be sure not to be re-admitted.

No stars for you. This place is a joke. If you have good insurance this place will hold you hostage. I found a care facility for my fiance to be transferred to and they are keeping her longer because her insurance covers 5 days instead of 3. They don't care about anything but money. It's sad when you have to get an attorney to get your loved one out to get her long term help.
