The Grotto Caf opened its doors November of 2011 and is a family owned business. We serve award winning locally roasted organic coffee from the Roastery of Cave Creek right here in town, fresh bagel & pastries along with breakfast & lunch. We also have a liquor license to complement our food and atmosphere.
Here at the Grotto Caf we have one of the largest outdoor patio areas in all of Cave Creek. We also have plenty of indoor seating to accommodate guests all year. We've built a reputation for being a local hot spot for locals and new guests of all ages. We take a tremendous amount of pride in what we do and would love the opportunity to serve you soon!

Thursday Nights are TRIVIA NIGHT. Come test your knowledge on all topics including movies, music, television, art, history, and much more. Went yeasterday, cute place.
We order the soup and the three cheese grilled cheese sandwich.
The soup came out cold. The sandwich wasn't very hot and the cheese wasn't even melted all the way, the bread was cold. It was lunch time and they were busy. But take the time to make sure the food is hot.
After the soup was hot it was very good.
That was are first time, but we will try it again and see what happens.

I ordered the pork tacos (the meat was a bit dry, but good) and the enchilada soup. Both were delicious. My wife had a large strawberry salad (it is big). She enjoyed it but thought the strawberries were a bit tart. My daughter had the chicken nachos; they were excellent. The ambience was really nice to sit outside in Arizona! We had a nice lunch and I'll be back.

The ambiance is fun and active but the food was an utter disappointment. We ordered a carne asada tacos expecting tasty, flavorful steak tacos and I stead got tacos with what tasted like boiled beef and zero flavor. Even adding green salsa, lime and black beans didn’t help. The black beans alone are delicious and the sweet potato fries are very good. Don’t order the steak tacos.

This is a first place we go when we land in AZ. Sitting outside, sipping coffee, having a great bowl or sandwich while talking with the locals is a great way to start any vacation. Food is great, staff is awesome and the eclectic atmosphere is fun. Fun shops for afterwards. Don't forget to pet the doggos scattered about.

Spent the day in Cave Creek today and tried The Grotto Cafe for lunch. It was delicious! I had an amazing strawberry green salad and my husband had a Cuban panini sandwich and we both loved our food. The service was fast and we enjoyed checking out all of the music memorabilia on the walls as we ate.

Always a pleasant experience lunching here with friends. We ordered, paid, got a number associated with our order and choose a table outside.
I ordered the Red Truck sandwich. That is a bagel with your choice of meat or avocado with egg and cheese. My friend ordered a half of a chicken salad sandwich with gazpacho soup.

Some cafes have great food and some others have great atmosphere. This place has both. We mostly stop by at lunch for our favorite salad or panini sandwich. Also tried their excellent breakfast menu and espresso coffee. Outside seating area was always popular but now it is greatly expanded and became even more popular. Inside seating area can be a little noisy due to friendly chatter but you may also enjoy 70's rock music at the background.

Oh Boy the breakfast was terrible, I got the Grotto Bowl, which was an overcooked omelette with potatoes, ground up bacon and a touch of cheese, then chopped up and thrown in a bowl.
My wife got the red truck sandwich, which was a bagel with an overcooked omelette with cheese and tiny bits of bacon.
The orange juice was straight out of the bottle from Kirkland-Costco.
I kind of feel if Costco did breakfast it would taste like this.

I met a friend from out of town who was staying in Cave Creek. Yelp directed me here and we made plans for a weekend breakfast date. This town feels very different from Phoenix and the valley, so it was like taking a road trip out here. There was a good amount of parking here and we entered from one of the open sliding patio doors.

I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and I'm honestly wowed by it lol By far the best I've ever had. Fresh and they give you a good amount. Chopped chicken breast, red onions, green apple, dried cranberries, pecans, lettuce and mayo on toasted cranberry walnut bread. Served with kettle chips and a huge sliced pickle! Free refills too for the win.

Came here pre-covid19. We had breakfast in mind and they had a lot of good things on the menu to select from. We found this hidden place thanks to the red truck! Plenty of parking, seating inside and outside. We got inline to order our breakfast. We got our drinks and hunted for a table inside.

Such a lovely setting, with a tree filled patio and plenty of space to make you feel safe during Covid. You order at the counter, grab a number and they bring you your food. The Baja enchilada soup was delicious! I also enjoyed one of their salads with house made dressing, just note that their full sized salads are humongous and you will likely take some home with you. I half sized salad with a cup of soup was a perfect sized lunch for me. Would love if they offered a half sandwich and soup or salad combo.
