Golden Pines RV Resort & Campground
Golden Pines RV Resort & Campground is a quiet, family-friendly campground located at 5000' elevation in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Here among the towering trees of the Stanislaus National Forest our park has become a favorite destination for travelers throughout the United States and Europe. Some go out exploring, while others are content to stay and enjoy the peace of the forest in this secluded park.

It's up to you! Our location makes us a great base camp for all of your favorite outdoor activities. Whether you plan on going hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, hunting, paddling on an alpine lake, spelunking, wine tasting or just want to relax, Golden Pines is perfectly located for exploring all that the northern Sierra have to offer.
Services
Reservation Deposit - A deposit equal to the price of your first night's stay is required at the time of reservation. We do not have monthly rates for our nightly sites, and there is a stay limit of 14 days a month for any reservation. Tent - RULES HAVE CHANGED REGARDING TENTS ON RV SITES Extra tents are allowed only on Pull-through RV sites, or 1 tent allowed if booking sites 59 & 60 together.
While all of our RV sites have their own septic hookups, unfortunately we do not have a public dump station. A public dump station is open during the summer in Big Trees State Park (Phone: 209-795-2334). For all sites, check-in starts at 1 PM. Check-out is at 12 noon. The office may not be manned before check-ins start in the afternoon.
When PG&E plans a power shutoff event, we are alerted about 36 - 48 hours in advance. If the outage is likely to occur during your reservation, we'll call you at your given contact number to let you know. The park stays open for camping during power shutoffs, just without the electricity! This means bringing cash is a great idea (though not necessary), as well as arriving as early as possible as it will be pretty dark once the sun goes down.
The park has 20 full-hookup RV sites (4 pull-throughs and 16 back-ins). Every site is equipped with a fire pit, picnic table, 30 amp service, water, and sewer. We have several sites that can fit RVs up to 40' in length and one that can fit RVs up to 45'. Because of the variability in the size and layout of our sites, we ask that you be sure of the true full length of your RV when making a reservation - not just the model number.
Our A-frame sleeper cabin is just a step up from tent camping. It is sparsely appointed, with no water or electricity. This small cabin sleeps 2 people and is simply equipped with two twin beds, and has a very spacious private deck, bistro table and chairs.

Bring your sleeping bag, ice-chest, and camp-stove and enjoy an easier way to camp! Fitted sheets provided, guests should bring their own bedding and towels (emergency bedding available for a fee).

Spent Thanksgiving at this campground. Had a great stay from start to finish and the camp host and maintenance guy were super nice. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry room were a little dated but nice and clean .

Great location, great host (Kerry) and clean rest rooms. The tent camping sites (the ones where we stayed) did not had too many flat surfaces to pitch in multiple tents. Regardless, I will revisit this place and stay here during my future camping trips.

Kerry is an amazing camp host! When I had park my trailer she came over to help me back in to make sure my personal property was not damaged by the surrounding trees. Kerry is extremely kind and is always waving when to me when I pass by. Kerry put the cherry on top of my stay here at Golden Pines RV Park. Kerry really went above and beyond her duties as a camp host.

We just happened to find this little gem late on a Monday night and camp host, Carrie, was so nice and accommodating. We were fortunate to get site 126 with trails leading out to amazing views. We will definitely stay again. We hope to see Carrie “the pet whisperer” as well.

The area is pretty, too many old permanent trailers make it look like an old trailer park. Watch your charge receipt. We booked last year and placed a deposit in the amount of one night. They charged us more when we got there and didn't let us know stating a rate increase? Wont be going there again.

We made base camp here since Golden Pines provides full hook-ups for our travel trailer. Made trips to Alpine Lake, Spicer Reservoir, and Big Trees Park. Price was very reasonable at about $50/night. Camp hosts were great. Also had a daily bear visitor so do not leave food out at night.

Beautiful! This place is the only RV resort with full hook-ups in the area. The trees are gorgeous old growth with the biggest pine cones I've ever seen! The owners are very friendly as well. It's a hop, skip and a jump from so many activities! Fishing, hiking, trails galore, kayaking, gold panning and more. The beautiful scenery and peaceful setting is worth the trip to the Golden Pines RV resort and campground.

Great RV park and campground. Only downfall I can think of is people not following the park rules after hours, and the showering facilities only have one stall, and there are only two in the park. They have a nice little pool and park area for children though, and are literally seconds from Big Trees State Park!

Amazing camp grounds. Very lovely spots for tent camping and RV options, surrounded by massive trees. The staff here love their job and it shows. Each has own fire pit, ample toileting facilities and even showers - everything is clean. We were able to roll up and book on the spot luckily, but I recommend you book in advance. If you're looking for a quick weekend trip from the Stockton area, this is perfect.

Great place to camp. Facilities are clean and well maintained. The camp hosts, Ken and Bonnie were friendly and helpful. No Permanent Campers - there are about 20 people that have their trailers stored up there, they are a great group of people and gave us some great info on what to do in the area. The bath and shower rooms are newly remodeled and really clean. The pool was closed, it looks nice but they said when the water gets down below 65 no one swims so they close it for the winter, I don't usually swim in October anyway. We will defiantly stay here again.
