Albert Brothers
Albert Bros. Inc is a fourth generation family owned industrial and retail scrap metal recycling business in Waterbury, Connecticut for over 119 years. We are incredibly proud that our company has developed into one of the premier scrap metal recycling facilities in the country.

From our humble roots in 1895, peddling and trading scrap metal throughout the Connecticut countryside through today, the world has changed but the way we conduct our business has not.Honesty, respect, financial stability, professionalism, thoughtful management; innovation, and strategic expansion is what has made us a leader in the industry.
Services
Over the years, Albert Bros., Inc. and all of our employees have shared the same recycling mission of creating an enduring a lasting recycling company. We have seen our business grow because of our hard work, strong relationships with our customers and our community and a vision of how we believe a company should operate.
Through the years Albert Bros. has developed expertise in working alongside manufacturers to help them develop the most efficient scrap handling and recycling programs - something critical for their success.

In addition, we have successfully expanded into the recycling, processing and brokering of all metals including all steel grades, aluminums, coppers, brasses, stainless steels, aerospace alloys and precious metals along with paper and plastics. We will find a solution for your scrap metal recycling needs - custom containers, material handling, and transportation services.
For well over 100 years, Albert Bros. has been the place where individuals, contractors, plumbers, electricians, and companies have come to recycle their scrap metals. We happily accept anywhere from 1 lb to 1 million lbs of material. Albert Bros. has earned the repeat business of so many within our community through honest dealing, competitive prices, and professional courteous service.
Recycling reduces the need to mine for raw materials and reduces both energy consumption and the emission of greenhouse gases that contribute to global climate change. At the same time, recycling helps maintain a steady supply of raw materials for America and the rest of the world. Albert Bros., Inc. turns materials that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources.

When calling they give you a price then when you get here they give you the lowest price for copper!!! So I called and ask for the price they told me if it was clean it was 3.90 a pound! When I get here I ask again they say the same thing then when I go to cash out they give you the lowest price because it’s not clean! Or #1 copper. And when you go ask them they don’t admit that they gave a price that they where talking to another customer it’s their excuse for not to own up to their mistake.

If you are a disabled veteran or any person on the street without a driver's license, you cannot show them a veteran ID or a state ID to be able to survive and put food in your stomach. this is very disheartening that they would not take my veteran ID I am a 40% rated disabled vet

Even though is one of the best in Ct, prices are at the lowest level since since the pandemic started for example, for 460lbs of unprepared steel you only going to get $5.14 and automatically an adjustment is applied so at the end you only put in your pockets $5.00.

Absolutely amazing experience! If you have excess scrap metal, regardless of how much you have, Albert Bros will always be able to take your materials. After having two positive retail dropoffs of brass and silver, I can say definitively that Albert Bros gives you the best price for your money; I could not recommend them more.

The place takes a lot of unessasary time driveing around the yards in circles. For 2 full truck loads of iron they very low pay you when you know what it would have been at other scrap yards . I do not recommend this place unless you want to get ripped off by the polite staff. They politely rip you off. Worse place ever.

They are now paying $15 a GT for iron on the retail side. Continental pays $60 a GT. Think about that before bringing any quantity. I got .01 for what I brought in the other day. Seems like theft to me. Also, they always deduct 2 pounds when using their buckets (they only weigh 1.8 pounds).

Ok place to sell scrap or buy metal. They don't even pay 5 cents per pound for light iron scrap, though. Also a bit of a hassle to sell scrap, as you need to go through the yard to the scale, then go to the yard again to drop your haul, then back to the scale, then park your vehicle, walk to the office, get your ticket, THEN finally walk to the ATM for your cash. Probably 3 steps too many in my opinion. I probably won't come back here to sell scrap, but I'd consider buying from them if I need anything.

My Aunt wanted to go here to scrap here old computer hardware, speakers, and some other well ... junk. So off we went. I've lived in Waterbury most of my life and never knew I could go here for this to be honest.
Didn't know exactly where to go in this giant area but the employees here were friendly and we were able to navigate without us being scrapped.
She turned in her items and got her receipt. Then we went off to door number one. There she got ... 23 cents.
Hahaha, as she said ... I did my part for the environment. Emm, how about the fuel. Just kidding. Gotta love anyone
