I grew up baking with my mom and learning from her. So, it seemed like a good idea when she suggested that I go to culinary school. Best decision I ever made! After high school I attended culinary school at El Centro College in Dallas. Shortly after that, I started working as a baker. I worked for the same Dallas restaurant for 10 years as a baker and bakery manager at two of their three locations.
My dream had always been to open my own bakery, and I spent my career gaining the experience needed to take this step. I opened The Flour Shop Bakery in the Shops at Highland Village. I don't consider baking as a job; it's my hobby that I am lucky enough to be able to do for a living. I like to bake things that remind you of when you were growing up.

Services
A Flour Shop Bakery party is a great idea for your birthday, bridal shower, team building, friends night out or just for fun. We will provide everything you need to have a great a time. This party package is a ball! We provide each baker-in-training with enough cake and icing to mix, scoop, roll, dip and decorate six of their own cake pops!

I thought the point of a bakery was getting fresh baked goods that taste better than the grocery store.
I have tried several of their regular cookies such as lemon, the peanut butter chocolate chip, reeces etc from the bakery case.
The cookies taste hard and crunchy. Would prefer soft, fresh tasting cookies.
I will not be back here - not worth it.

We had a Christmas party at our house for about 50 people. We ordered an assortment of baked goods from The Flour Shop Bakery. We had min-cupcakes, mini-cheesecakes, cake pops, macaroons, and dessert shooters. Our guests literally 'ooh'd' and 'ah'd' as they devoured the treats. We got an array of flavors, too (ie, red velvet, cookie dough, lemon, gingerbread, tiramisu, etc.). They were incredibly delicious. We were sure we had ordered way too much and there ended up not being a single treat left. Cara and her team of bakers are truly top-notch. So friendly and SO GOOD!! We 100% will be ordering

We ordered a cake for our son’s 2nd birthday. We wanted a custom train themed cake and it turned out great! The team came up with ideas and shared with us and made whatever change we asked for. Cake looked so good and tasted so good. We chose vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling. We also got an assorted mini cup cakes.
Their wedding cake with raspberry filling is pretty good too. (I need to search for a picture of that one).

I’ve been a longtime customer of The Flour Shop. I got married yesterday and they baked a beautiful cake and two dozen cupcakes! The cake was so gorgeous that I felt so bad cutting it, but am so glad I did because it was DELICIOUS. I had requested white cake with Oreo buttercream with pale pink icing and gold sprinkles on the outside. Every single time I’ve gone to The Flour Shop, I’ve been impressed and beyond satisfied with what I’ve purchased, but this event elevated my love for it. Cara, the owner, is AMAZING. This place is unbelievably good! I had a unique request for unicorn cupcakes for a birthday and wanted to support local business in the process. Cara, the owner, took my call and was very helpful in presenting a design option that worked for budget as well as delicious flavor! I called several times before pickup with questions and Cara was super helpful. At the event Several guests asked where we got these tasty treats and we gladly recommended this location. I will definitely be back!
