Ken and Jean is where I spent most of my childhood, where I learned that I love dance, where I watched amazing teachers that inspired me, and where I made some of my best friends. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone I knew looking for a real dance experience with some truly compassionate people.

Services
Ken Phifer and Jean Dorfield founded the Ken & Jean Dance Studio in 1948, the year before they were married. They were partnered as a dance team in their early teens, which quickly became a partnership for life. Jean was three when she first took her place in a dance class. Two years later, Ken walked into the same studio to begin dancing at the age of seven.
Ken & Jean Dance Studio is equipped with two studios with custom state-of-the-art dance floors that greatly enhance the dancer's experience. These floors facilitate soft landings when mastering leaps and jumps. It is our belief that students are more prone to the risk of injury in studios that do not have customized dance floors.
We proudly offer a teaching staff with vast professional and practical experience to ensure that our students receive the highest quality dance education available. Our instructors are certified members of the Dance Masters of America, the Dance Masters of Pennsylvania, the Cecchetti Ballet Council, and Acrobatic Arts.
Our curriculum is designed to give students a well-rounded and balanced dance education from pre-school to advanced levels. Beginner Levels 1, 2, or 3 - For ages 3 - 6, this 60-minute class introduces the fun and rhythm of tap, the graceful movement of ballet and the agility of acrobatics. It is offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Saturdays.
The Cecchetti Council of America holds examinations in classical ballet for students and teachers across the United States who are training in the Cecchetti method. The Syllabus offers students an opportunity to advance their technical ability and fully understand ballet terminology. Each level provides attainable goals that build self-confidence in their developmental progress as young ballet dancers grow.

Ken and Jeans has been the absolute best decision I have made for my two daughters. The teachers and owner, Darcy, are wonderful. They teach so much more than dance. They teach my girls confidence and commitment and all while smiling and having fun. They know every single dancer that comes in that door by name. Every year they put on amazing recitals. I have loved watching my girls dance every year and can’t wait to see what is next.

I love the classy, traditional style of the studio. I love that dancers are not in competition with each other for featured spots. I love that all costumes are modest and that there is no drama among students and parents. My daughter has truly found lifelong friendship with her dance family. Simply the best!

My grand daughters (i have 4 of age to dance) took dance at this studio and i have never been so impressed by the kindness and encouragement given to all four of them. The teachers in this school are amazing with these children making them feel good about themselves and every new accomplishment. My girls adored their teachers and want so much to dance like the seniors. Not only do they make the children feel special but we were all included. The mothers day dance they did was a wonderful surprise. It touched my heart. I cant say enough about how pleasantly surprised i was by this whole experience

We are so thankful our daughter is able to dance at Ken and Jean. Darcy and her staff are creative, kind, and patient. Not only do they teach the students dance, but also build their confidence and self-esteem. The environment is safe and fun. Their focus on technique and positive encouragement allows every child to succeed.

We've been a part of the Ken and Jean family for over 10 years and I couldn't ask for a better studio for my girls. From the owner, to each and every instructor, to the assistants, they all have an amazing gift with the students. They make the youngest dancers comfortable and confident to dance in front of people. As the girls get older, they gain more confidence and discipline through the teaching there, and still have a fun, fantastic time. The studio is a family. We have loved being a part of the Ken & Jean studio! We appreciate the focus placed on techniques as opposed to trends and the care taken to dress our girls in age appropriate, modest attire. The instructors are dedicated, talented and loving individuals who treat our children as though they are their own. I couldn't ask for a better studio to teach our daughters the skills of teamwork, dedication and hard work, all of which are essential to dance and life!
