The town of Del Norte was a booming mining and ranching center in the last quarter of the 1800's and on the short list for the capital of Colorado when Denver got the final nod.

What a great place! Our room was amazing! We had a little balcony overlooking the courtyard and there was a band playing. Our room was huge! It was furnished with all antique furniture including a dining table for 8. Highly recommended! The dining room was also amazing. A little pricey but well worth it!

Beautiful hotel, nicely run. We had the honeymoon suite, it was giant. Nice little balcony with a view of the courtyard. Food truck was pretty good also. Only downside was the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and that just happened to be the two days we were there.
Not a lot going on in Del Norte but it's a good central point for visiting other attractions in the area..... And it's quiet.

This historic 1874 hotel has been saved from demolition by community members, restored over years by inspired and talented professionals. The current owners are living up to the history. Everything you would expect from a well operated hotel with the addition of the unique history built into every aspect of the decor.

The Windsor is a terrific boutique hotel! The restoration is simply lovely, the rooms are comfortable and the location is in the heart of the community.
A special call out should be given to the staff, from check-in to dining, from the outdoor bistro to the dining room, the attention to detail and hospitality are tremendous!
The kitchen on site is a scratch kitchen making it possible to dine out even with food allergies. If Del Norte or the surrounding areas are on your map for summer fun - I would recommend a stay at the Windsor!

This hotel was so charming! At first the outside might look just a tad run down, but the inside is amazing! It’s adorable and it feels like you get put back in time! The restaurant was amazing, my husband didn’t love his food, but I loved mine! The woman at the bar was such a peach and we loved her!!
Beds were awesome, and we enjoyed our stay. The food truck is in a cute little corner that was charming. I recommend!

What a surprise! I have stayed in these historic hotels over the years. Usually they are old, dusty musty with many layers of paint built up over the decades, antique furniture that looks like it will fall apart. the Windsor has been reset - updated clean new paint and quite delightful. Cody at the front desk was very helpful. Highly recommend Windsor Hotel in Del Norte

I should start off by saying, this review is WELL OVER DUE!! I don't write many reviews, but feel this needs to be said. These guys are amazing and have been for years. I travel for work and thus have a strong allegiance to a chain that rewards points. However, if I am traveling anywhere near the Windsor I will leave those rewards on the table and drive extra to stay here. This team goes out of their way to make you feel appreciated. They learn your name quickly and do anything they can to make you feel special. I am talking little things, like mail your phone charger back to you, remember

This hotel is enchanting and brings a sense of calm to your spirit that matches the external environment of Del Norte. All staff are kind and incredibly helpful - they make you feel like part of a community during your stay. The food is delicious and the aesthetic unparalleled. I stayed without my family and am already planning a trip back with my daughter and husband.

The Windsor is a charming place for a romantic meal. The dining room is elegant with a full bar, creative cocktails and good wine list. Service is attentive and professional. They accommodated our kids and offer a vegan/vegetarian meal with advanced notice. It would be nice if they offered more vegetarian options. Both times we dined there it was zucchini noodles- more zucchini than most people could eat in a year! Nicely flavored but not very satisfying without a protein component. Other entrees were delicious and the salads were beautiful. I appreciated that much of the produce was local

Wow. I am so impressed with this place. A great story of how they saved the oldest hotel in Colorado from the wrecking ball. Beautiful history displayed. The best food I have had in a very long time. Five star food at reasonable prices. I had the fish and chips that had the most incredible vinegar aoli. The desserts were a work of art that were delicious. The bar tenders are friendly and work with you to try different local drinks. This is my new favorite place in colorado. I would give 6 stars if I could.

My husband and I fell into finding this gem. There are twenty rooms all remodelled and refurbished to today's standards while keeping with the original style of the hotel. Guests set their alarms to wander out for fresh coffee and baked goods. When we were there the chef had made fresh croissants and homemade jam. It was worth getting up early for and shuffling down to the upstairs lobby in the provided robes and slippers. We all stood around with messy hair and sleepy smiles.
The staff is beyond incredible. From the time we checked in... the entire staff knew our names and treated us like

The Windsor Hotel is operated by a stand-up group of fascinating folks whose passion for hospitality, mixology, history and cuisine clearly comes to light the minute you step inside. The food is, simply, outstanding. The accommodations are, simply, perfection. The staff is, simply, the best of the best. Not only is this they premier place to stay in the San Luis Valley but also the south/central Colorado.
