My name is Darren Revell and I'm the owner here at Love + 1 Wedding DJs. Bringing great music to people has always been a passion of mine. So much, that I've been making a living at it my entire adult life. How long is that you ask? Let's just say it's over 20 years and leave it at that. Seriously though, I've been working in clubs and radio since the late '80s.
I started my own radio show called Big Sonic Heaven in 1995 and was proud to bring it to the Detroit and Los Angeles airwaves over the years. 22 years later and I'm still having fun being a DJ! There's nothing like putting on the next song and watching the dance floor erupt in pure excitement! Weddings are especially fun since everyone is in a great mood celebrating with the newlyweds.

A DJ's job is to keep people on the dance floor. We do that by reading the crowd, taking requests, and always playing your "Must Play" songs you've chosen in your Online Entertainment Planner. Because of the sheer number of weddings our DJs have performed at, keeping a dance floor packed is like second nature.
If you're looking for a great Detroit Wedding DJ, you've found the right place. We've brought together a great group of DJs, who share our vision and passion for entertainment. You won't find any cheesy DJs with big egos here. We don't crack jokes or get out on the dance floor and teach people how to line dance.
Uplights are individual colored LED lights that are placed on the floor usually along the perimeter of the room. They point up to highlight the wall, column, arch, and/or ceiling and can be programmed to the color of your choice. Our LED wedding uplighting is a perfect add-on to subtly compliment or fully transform any room to the color of your choice.

Our experience with Love Plus One Wedding DJs was better than expected. As everyone knows, COVID changed our initial plans which resulted in pushing our wedding date for an entire year. They were kind enough to accomodate this for us. When it came time to plan our wedding day, their online song planning tool gave us a great structured and even made us think about things we had not thought about. One week prior to the wedding day, DJ Mike gave us a call to iron out all the details. It gave us such great relief because we felt we were in good hands. Lastly, Mike was great. The day was perfect and everything we wanted. Steve was wonderful, I have received many compliments. People were impressed that they could hear the ceremony in the back. My other friend getting married soon mentioned how cool it was that the speakers were set up so the DJ just went from one area to the next - I told her that was all the DJ who managed all of that. The dance floor was rocking - my mother in law gave compliments to the DJ! They just went to another wedding she called 'boring' with nobody on the dance floor.... a total opposite to ours. DJ Vinnie was such a pleasure to work with and extremely supportive on our big day.
pre-wedding: As a bride, he made me feel at complete ease. He went above and beyond when we almost had our live ceremony music band cancel a few days before the wedding. Luckily that didn't happen, but he did everything he could to be available for us. Would definitely recommend your services to anyone who is in need of a DJ!

Vinnie (DJ shortstop) did a fantastic job DJing / MCing for our wedding. He was flexible and able to adjust on-the-go to make sure that people were enjoying the dance floor all night. We were confident all night that he was there for us to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Darren, the owner, was also communicative and very helpful along the way. I would highly recommend Love Plus One!

Love Plus One Entertainment was the perfect choice of DJ for our wedding day. From the first meeting with the owner, to the end of the night with the DJ assigned to our event, we felt like we were always put first. Their online planner made it easy to plan out what songs we wanted and when they would play, and our DJ, Mike, kept people on the dance floor all night long. I have no doubt that we would choose them again if we ever have need for a DJ in the future.

Alex did such a great job! I don’t think there was a single point where there weren’t people on the dance floor. He really listened to what we wanted and did really well at incorporating the type of music we wanted with the traditional party music. He had a very good read on the crowd all night and knew how to keep the party going. We’re still getting compliments on how good the music was all night. We were extremely happy with how it turned out!

DJ Alex was phenomenal! People were honestly coming up to us all night saying how awesome he was the entire time. We kept getting compliments about him even days after! I knew once we had our phone meeting that he was going to be perfect for us. He played all the right music and I could tell he was paying attention to the crowd and how they reacted to songs. He had the dance floor going the entire time during open dancing. He was so nice and I really appreciated him offering a better entrance area for us.
