Kimlin Energy is a third-generation family-owned fuel services provider locally owned and operated right here in the Hudson Valley region. Founded in 1982 in Ulster County as a propane company by Douglas Kimlin, the company has grown over the years to include propane and heating oil delivery, equipment installation and service, and commercial fuels services.
Our service area has also grown to include Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Putnam, Greene, Columbia and Sullivan counties. Douglas's grandson, Max Kimlin, now manages day-to-day operations. And he, like all of us at Kimlin Energy, remain committed to the high standards of service we've had over these almost 40 years.

Services
Throughout the year, Kimlin will spotlight a different local non-profit organization each month on popular radio station WBPM 92.9FM and on social media and in other high-profile consumer media. Kimlin's Community of Caring mission is to encourage the community to learn more about these great organizations, and invite people to consider volunteering and donating.
Gasoline has risen more than a dollar more per gallon vs. a year ago. Natural gas prices have skyrocketed more than 150%. Crude oil prices have climbed above $80 per barrel, a level we haven't seen in seven years. The cost of electricity has not been spared either. Higher natural gas prices result in price hikes for wholesale electricity because of heavy reliance on natural gas-fired power plants.
Are you noticing that more homes in your community are switching to propane, and that more new construction homes are being built to use propane? There are reasons for that. Propane is clean-burning, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly and versatile. And since almost all of the U.S. propane supply is domestically produced, there's always an abundance regardless of what happens elsewhere in the world.
If you're lucky enough to use propane in your home here in the Hudson Valley, you know that its efficiency and versatility make life better in so many ways. Propane-powered water heaters are much more efficient than electric ones, saving you big on energy costs. You can use unheated spaces like sun porches, garages and sheds year-round with propane space and wall heaters.
Are you building a new home somewhere in our service area of Dutchess and Ulster counties? Or perhaps you are renovating your existing home. While you're deciding between tile and vinyl plank for the bathrooms, picking out paint colors and doing all the paperwork that goes with these projects, there's something else you can do that will enhance the quality of life in your home both indoors and out.

I’ve been a small use customer for thirty years of Kimlin Energy. They decided to access a 65 dollar yearly charge to use their service due to low amount of fuel purchased that we are already being charge additional for. I go to use my stove this morning to find I’m out of gas. I check the tank to find a device on the tank locking me out. I call and I spoke with Tara who informs me I have a zero balance. I can’t believe that this is the way the treat a long time customer. I’ll find someone else. Shame on you kimlin.

I had a really easy time coordinating the work with Benjamin.
4 of the nicest guys came to bury a 500 gallon propane tank, dig a trench to the house, and hook up the propane inside. They were courteous, funny, helpful and professional. One guy, (I wish I could remember all of their names) even called his mom to ask about how to revitalize some plants that needed to be dug up to get the line in!
The backhoe operator landscaped the rocks around the tank cap.
Solid work, excellent people.

Office staff (Tara) in Red Hook was GREAT.... but that's it. Had appointment this morning for a Propane Tank placement between 9-10am. Come 12 noon, still no one here. Tried calling local office, no answer, called main number and after listening to a large amount of good music, Lori calls dispatch and tells me they are SO sorry, they got called to an emergency this morning. You think I would I received a phone call- no! Sad that now I might have to continue my search for a Propane and Oil Company.

We have a small (24 gallon) tank that we use only for our stove. Because we use propane very slowly, it seems that Kimlin thinks it's OK to charge us a $73 "Minimum Usage Fee." We didn't order propane within the time they think we should have, so they charged us $73. For NOTHING. They charge you for ordering propane, and they charge you for NOT ordering propane. And then, on top of that, I called them this past Monday (04.16.18) to order propane (we ran out on Sunday - there's no gauge on the tank, so you don't know you're out until you're out) and was told
