Gear Up Cyclery is the truth! I had a great experience there today... even with all the work/repairs they had on the books they still accommodated my needs. Their customer service was amazing. From my initial call down to the service I have nothing but good things to say.
Mark serviced my road bike. He put air in the tires, did a quick check on it AND put on my new tape for my handlebars!!! When I came back to pick up my baby (my bike) I screamed with happiness!!! My bike looked like it had a makeover. GAH! Mark did all this just in time for my group ride this Sunday.

A real hidden gem of Plainfield!! They are one of the most helpful and honest bike shop in Indy. I can’t count the times that I have brought my bikes for small adjustments and fixing and they have delivered!! If you are in need of anything bike related please give them a chance and you’ll be a regular as well!

Thank you so much to Daniel (and everyone else in the Gear Up gang) for the awesome experience. My husband and I went in on Sat not expecting to walk out with anything (we are new at this bicycling stuff and went in mostly to learn more) but we really loved the personalized service we received from Daniel and Tom, as well as the pair of bikes pictured that they luckily had in our size the day we came in. (Fate, anyone?)

These guys are the best! Just bought a "new to me" bike that I was very excited about. I stopped in to see if they could check it out, and they didn't hesitate to go above and beyond to make sure the bike was not only safe, but also adjusted to how I would need it. My experience with this shop has been very positive. I have an old Trek bike that had been sitting idle for about 10 years. These guys gave it a nice tune-up and replaced my tires and tubes. The bike is good as new again. Very upfront and straightforward with pricing for service work. It took a while since these guys are extremely busy, but I still got my bike back sooner than their estimated completion time.

Great customer service. I haven’t had a bike in over 20 years and I went to Gear Up Cyclery to find a bike. I was greeted by one of the workers, Jeff as soon as I walked in the store. I explained to him that I was a casual rider and he proceeded to tell me about one of the few bikes, Specialized, that they had in the stock. He made all the the adjustments so the bike fit my size. I took the bike on a test ride, it’s a smooth ride. He showed me how to change gears and how to take the front tire off and put it back on. Jeff helped me pick out a water bottle holder, a bell, and even a helmet.

I was in town for a visit with the family. Searching for some assistance with a bike and after about 5 calls around town I got a hold of the guys at Gear Up and felt like I'd found some old friends. Helpful. Genuine and, I believed, went out of their way to be sure things were just right. Bought an entry-level Specialized bike from them a few years ago. My wife and English bulldog rode along with me to their store. They stayed outside while I looked at bikes. As I was talking with an employee, I mentioned my family was outside and probably going for a short walk while I browsed. They insisted that they come inside and cool off. They showered my dog with all kinds of attention, which probably sealed the deal on buying a bike there.

I called in today to ask what it would cost to have them assembly a simple Huffy children's bike I bought at Target. It was a easy task that would have taken no more than five or ten minutes. I could have done it myself, but I don't have the basic tools it requires. They quoted me $60!! The guy on the phone was rude, and laughed when he told me, "Sorry, that's what it costs." I was looking forward to supporting a supposedly friendly local business, but they proved to be less than. They have definitely lost any future business from me.

This is one of the best shopping experiences of my life! I bought a great bike. They took the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions without making me feel like a nuisance. They spent almost 45 minutes setting the bike up for me and didn't try to hard sell me on anything. I sometimes go in just to look around, because I just love the positive vibe and friendly interactions. I would recommend Gear Up to anyone looking for a bike or accessories.
