Yes, Dr. Akers is more expensive than others, but one gets what they pay for. In my 15 year association she has gone out of her way to come to our house in the dead of night for an emergency with one cat, made house calls to treat an infirm cat and ultimately picked her up when euthanasia was the only option left, and has otherwise only shown that she does care very much about animals. And I am often amazed at her mental recall--without referring to notes--when various patients come through the door.
