Services
Flora Funeral Service was founded in 1992 by Lee A. Flora. A Boones Mill native, he saw the opportunity following the sale of the prevailing area funeral homes for a locally owned establishment in Rocky Mount. After the purchase of property on South Main Street, an 8,000 square foot brick building was erected, complete with covered entrances, visitation rooms, and large chapel all on one level.
Our staff members, including six Licensed Funeral Directors are caring and experienced professionals who stand ready to serve your family at a time of need. Lee serves our firm as President and Manager.

He is a native of Boones Mill, a graduate of Franklin County High School, Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, Atlanta, GA and National Foundation of Funeral Service School of Management, Chicago, IL. Lee also holds a Life and Health insurance license by the Bureau of Insurance. He has completed training by the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) and is a certified crematory operator.
Conveniently located on South Main Street in Rocky Mount, our funeral home offers over 8,000 square feet of space all on one level. Our facility includes covered entrances, a spacious lobby, two business offices, public restrooms that are equipped for the handicap, a private arrangement office that is adjacent to our casket selection room and cremation options displays.
Our aftercare program is available to help families deal with grief and the loss of a loved one. Our "Companions to the Bereaved" support group offers weekly meetings for you as long as needed to help with the acceptance of your loved ones death. The meetings are ongoing and do not require prior contact.
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.

On November 20, 2020 we lost our beloved "Paw" Eddie Dalton and we were truly heartbroken. The family decided to use Flora Funeral services like many of our family before us. I just wanted to take a moment and commend Flora for their extremely professional and sensitive customer service. We were fortunate to deal with Glen Bolling who helped us navigate all the necessary needs that this time demands. Glen also helped us with personal references when dealing with local government and businesses. He even called us after the funeral to see how we were doing and if we had made it back
