Trying to tell the difference between what expected behaviors are and what might be the signs of a mental illness isn't always easy. There's no easy test that can let someone know if there is mental illness or if actions and thoughts might be typical behaviors of a person or the result of a physical illness.
A mental health condition isn't the result of one event. Research suggests multiple, linking causes. Genetics, environment and lifestyle influence whether someone develops a mental health condition. A stressful job or home life makes some people more susceptible, as do traumatic life events. Biochemical processes and circuits and basic brain structure may play a role, too.
NAMI In Our Own Voice presentations change attitudes, assumptions and ideas about people with mental health conditions. Amazing presentation with amazing presenters! I used to associate with mental illness. Presenting this program is the single most effective thing I am doing to maintain my mental health.
Ending the Silence are free engaging presentations designed to help middle and high school students, as well as staff understand facts and statistics about youth and mental health conditions, early warning signs, when and how to get help for themselves or others, and when it is not okay to keep a secret.

Very unprofessional and intentionally trying to HURT people in the mental health community. STAY FAR AWAY. DO NOT DONATE. The black girl volunteer is Evil and the rest of the staff is the same since they find her funny and support her rude behavior. Do not take their phone calls, do not attend their meetings, and do not support this local organization that is only about getting money for themselves, and really is indifferent about the people they are suppose to help. Keep your loved ones away.
