Do you have an interest in yoga but want to learn the basics before stepping into a group class? In this introductory series we will cover the basics of yoga philosophy, foundational postures (asana) with focus on safe alignment, and breath exercises (pranayama). Each session will build upon the skills learned in the last and end with a closing meditation and time for questions.
Come find how yoga is so much more than stretching or a workout, and how to modify the postures to meet your needs in a group class. A simple take home practice is included to keep you progressing in between sessions. At completion you will have the knowledge to confidently join weekly classes on our schedule.

Services
We continue to follow the most recent guidance and mandate from the CDC and State of Massachusettes. At this time face masks are optional for fully vaccinated students, while unvaccinated students must wear a mask inside the studio. We trust our community to make honest and responsible decisions. Teachers will continue to maintain physical distance and refrain from offering hands-on adjustments.
Our private and small group offerings are a perfect way to practice while minimizing contact with other clients. We offer a number of modalities for private and small group instruction, and can customize each session to meet your needs. Work individually, or gather a group of friends and family to have your very own private class in the studio or at the location of your choice.
Introduces the basic foundations of postures, breathwork, and meditation for enhanced flexibility, balance, and calm. Ideal for students new to yoga or with limited range of motion. Also recommended during pregnancy. Taught with precise cueing to alignment and breath in a deliberate and slowly paced sequence.
Pilates exercises are done with rhythm + flow, creating smooth, graceful, functional movements. This principle is thoroughly embodied in the fluid choreography of a Reformer + Ropes session. Each session addresses each part of the body with emphasis on cultivating core strength. Exercises on our Ropes and Slings wall are integrated with Reformer work for traction and alignment purposes to enhance these specialized sessions.

Positive: Communication, Quality
Seems like a studio serving their community and super inviting to visitors as well, a wonderful find. The Gentle Yoga classes are wonderful. Thanks especially to Carin & Jenna for amazingly crafted classes and Petra for helping us through some online signup to take our parents with us.

I have been going to this studio when I am on the Cape on weekends all year and in the summer for the past few years. This is a great yoga studio. In the summer, Petra is one of the best teachers to teach a challenging smooth class in a crowded studio. The workshops are really good too. Love this studio.

I have been to many classes here with about six different instructors and all of them have been excellent. Each teacher is different but they all focus on good technique and build up to the more challenging poses with good sequencing. The different levels that they offer are accurate in their descriptions on the website. You won’t go wrong with any class you choose!

This is the kinda place we need in Brooklyn! Dont get me wrong, there are a ton of amazing studios and amazing teachers in NYC, but Orelans Yoga has S P A C E. It's so nice to have room to stretch out and really work on a pose without worrying about bumping into someone or having someone super close. The studio itself is clean and bright, the teachers are good, patient and make classes fun. The majority of attendees are locals (which makes sense) but there's always room for a summer vacationer to drop in. Come in and get your Zen on. Namaste.

Petra is one of my favorite yoga teachers- I've practiced yoga since 1988- first in india, then Iyengar, power yoga, Kripalu, Bikram. Petra leads the most thoughtful and therapeutic sequences. I'm in a pose until I think I can't continue, then she moves us into something using all new muscles and I'm fresh again. She brings so much intelligence and years of training into what she's offering. I'm easily bored in yoga classes; always checking the clock- but never with Petra.

Have come here 2 times, while visiting the Cape and am very impressed with this studio. The staff is so friendly and the instructors are knowledgeable and compassionate. The studio is decor is mellow, tasteful, and appropriately zen. Their rental mats are Manduka Pros. Love the vibe and look of Orleans Yoga and look forward to visiting on future Cape trips!

Clean, we'll run and a good practice.
We stopped in while spending some time during the off-season in the cape. I learned that this is a new location; recently established.
We took a morning vinyasa practice. The teacher taught a creative sequence. There were strong Baptiste expressions and more of an ashtanga approach to alignment.
As an instructor, I avoid offering specific alignment cues to new practitioners. Being corrected for my alignment by a teacher I do not know, turned me off a bit. However, I enjoyed the practice and the energy of the space.

I had such a great experience here this past weekend at a beginners yoga workshop. I've wanted to start practicing for a while now but felt unsure of the best way to get started as I knew so little about yoga and had such limited experience. Taking a workshop like this, was the jump start I needed to see where I was physically and to build up my comfort level.
Mary Catherine was a lovely instructor with lots of sweet positive energy. She was so good at keeping everyone at ease and made sure to go around and give helpful tips and suggestions on poses and modifications. She was also really

I've followed Petra around the cape, at different studios because her classes are a wonderful combination of good alignment, challenging poses and purely positive environment. She has created a studio that includes all of these within a clean and new space that is conveniently located and a pleasure to be in.

A beautiful, new studio that has a nice decor with high quality props. The owner runs a challenging class with a strong focus on alignment and a progression through postures that builds and strengthens towards a few climactic poses. Can't wait to come back again next year during our annual vacation on the cape.
