The VNA Health System has an interesting history reflecting the changes in home health care over the years. Our growth has been remarkable and is growing bigger every year! A group of community minded citizens felt it was beneficial for the residents of Shamokin to have a non-profit organization provide skilled nursing for ill patients in the home.
VNA Health System has a wealth of information about ways to improve your health and well-being. You can put your trust in our professional and experienced team. We always have your health and well-being at heart. Hospice Care: Our care team works hand-in-hand with patients and families to provide a variety of support services when you need them most.
Assist patient and family members with a supportive transition when they are being discharged from the hospital and returning to their home. Provide a customized level of skilled home care and support based on the individual needs of each patient. A VNA Health System Nurse Liaison will coordinate with your hospital case manager or social worker in processing all the information needed for admission to home care.
Did you know that getting your flu shot is the best way to protect yourself and yor loved ones from influenza and its complications? The flu vaccine is important for people 25 -65 years of age and older, individuals with chronic heart, lung, kidney or liver diseases, respiratory illnesses, metabolic disorders such as diabetes, weakened immune systems, and certain muscle or nerve disorders.
The mission of VNA Private Duty, Inc is to provide quality, cost-effective home care related services to all persons or families within our service area. We are a progressive, community-based organization striving to make a positive difference in the home health field. Family structure has become more complicated.

Not very professional! Reported us to adult protective services b/c we "refused" labs one morning even though we told them the oncologist had planned to draw the same labs that afternoon. After they filed the report which APS deemed to be unfounded, they just never returned! Didn't reply to our voicemail messages and just left the BRAIN CANCER patient without any notice!

The professionalism and kindness of all the Nurses and Aides helped guide our family through one of the most difficult times. We could not have cared for our beloved mother at the end of her life without their help. I would like to thank Mary, the Aide who came every day. Her compassion meant a lot to us.

When my mother lived in Shamokin, her health problems led us to use the VNA to get her back to good health. They did just that! The nursing staff and therapy group were compassionate , professional , and lifted my mom’s spirit to keep her moving forward. They were nothing short of excellent!!

I recently had a total knee replacement. I hired the services of VNA to visit my home during my healing process. I have nothing but the highest regards for their service, their professionalism and most of all, their caring. Special thanks to Candi and Carol for taking care of me physically, and Lenny and Rich for therapy. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE VNA TO ANYONE NEEDING HOME CARE!

When our daughter was born in Hershey Med center, we decided to participate in a *free* program. Basically a nurse came to our house and checked our daughter out. She checked her hearing, weight, checked for jaundice, among other things. She interviewed me and my wife to find out how we felt, problems or questions that we were having. The nurse that arrived was very polite and courteous and answered all of our questions. It also helped that we didnt feel too confident in driving around a week old baby. So they came to us.
