This class is a great introduction to martial arts for these kids, and begins to teach them focus and patience. They get a little workout, to wear off some of their energy, and also get to learn some of the basics of martial arts. Once they have started school, they can move up to the all belts class.
Each of our instructors have been trained by Renshi Michael Bunton to teach our students martial arts. I began my official martial arts training in 1993 studying the styles of Muay Thai kickboxing and Brazilian Jujitsu, and obtaining a black belt in a system the instructor composed. I began teaching classes prior to making black belt asking to help out however I could.

I have never seen more dedication by Renshi Mike and Siji at Phoenix Martial Arts. They are loved and respected by their students, and every class, they will challenge you in mind, body, and in spirit. Although the martial arts and self defense that you will learn at Phoenix Martial Arts is invaluable, the real value that you receive from coming to the school are the intangibles that you gain. My entire family attends and we have learned leadership skills, confidence with control, respect, and how to be a good learner, a good listener, and a good example to those that come after you. My son has taken martial arts with Phoenix for 11 years. We have had nothing but positive experiences with Phoenix. Renshi and Siji have been positive role models for my son in so many ways. Renshi is the constant encourager, a trait and quality that I appreciate and admire. I have observed on numerous occasions that his version of martial arts… does not include the word "can't." He and Siji work hard to encourage students to never give up. My son's self-confidence, respect and focus have been positively influence as a result of Phoenix Martial Arts.

My son has been a student at Phoenix Martial Arts Academy for five years. He has learned so much from Renshi and Sigi (Mike and Dawn Bunton) not only self defense, but discipline, respect and self control. The lessons that he is learning will carry him far in life. Phoenix Martial Arts Academy is a wonderful environment for children and adults.

Ever see that martial arts movie that the Sensei pushed the student to their full potential, did exercises that had hidden agendas and some not so hidden, gave praise to the student where it was due, cared about the students life outside of the dojo showing it's not just about the money nor is the student just another face in the dojo to teach, and… instilled discipline in the student that brought about change to their lives (manners, positive morales and values that lead the student to strive to achieve goals that would make them a productive person in life, respect for others and for themselves
