Services
Since 1977, Interfaith Campus Preschool and Child Care Center has stood in support of families from the surrounding universities and community. More than 40 years ago, a joint effort by Interfaith Campus Ministry, John Knox Presbyterian Church, Stark State College, Kent State University, and the State of Ohio aspired to bring a safe, affordable, accessible, and high-quality child care center and learning environment to our local area.
In 1976, Reverend James Smith of John Knox Presbyterian Church (JKPC) asked Reverend Tom Douce of Interfaith Campus Ministries, "How can we be of service to our surrounding institutions of higher learning?" Reverend Douce replied that there was a great need for the child care of local Stark Campus students and faculty children.
As a parent, we know that it can be hard to part with your children for any amount of time. This can certainly make going back to work or school seem overwhelming! We at Interfaith Campus Preschool understand the anxieties of our parents, and have taken strong measures to ensure the safety and security of the children in our care.
Founded in 1967, Interfaith Campus Ministry serves the spiritual needs of the students, faculty, staff, and administration of Kent State University at Stark and Stark State College. Over 40 years ago, ICM identified the need for quality, low-cost child care for local families and students.

A big factor in this undertaking was understanding that this facility would also need to remain in close proximity to the local schools, to ease the burden of accessibility. After recognizing this urgency, ICM partnered with John Knox Presbyterian Church to launch a convenient preschool and child care center.
Our staff is passionate about learning and teaching, supportive of one another, and tons of fun! Are you ready to join the ICP family? General Responsibilities: Supervise and instruct the children of designated classrooms, and implement lesson plans where appropriate. Character Qualities: Enthusiasm is key!

My son loved this daycare. I had to stop sending him there due to the pandemic but we were treated so well and it was very plain to see how much the staff loved kids. My son's behavior and knowledge both improved greatly during his year at the daycare. I cannot thank the staff enough for being so caring and compassionate.
