Lisa comes from a long family history of funeral directing, her father having help to build Rose & Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. She tells folks, she was the funeral director's kid, a funeral director's wife and then became the funeral director herself. Lisa is a Virginia girl by birth but a West Virginia girl while growing up.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
A United States flag is provided, at no cost, to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran who served honorably in the U. S. Armed Forces. It is furnished to honor the memory of a veteran's military service to his or her country. Generally, the flag is given to the next-of-kin, as a keepsake, after its use during the funeral service.
Most cremation companies outsource the transfer of the deceased and the cremation to low-priced bidders who operate in industrial areas. By choosing Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, you gain peace of mind with our superior cremation services and the comfort of knowing that your loved one will always be in the compassionate care and capable hands of our professional staff.

My precious Daddy went to be with his Lord this past week. Lyle and his team were so wonderful...and professionally took care of every little detail that we somehow missed...They were right on it as soon we needed something corrected or added that we forgot about. I have known Lyle's family for years, couldn't ask for better people... Thank you, Donaldson's 💖

Lyle, thank you for handling a delicate family situation with sensitivity, and empathy. It takes an individual with a God given talent to do what you do. You serve families at a difficult time, and treat the families you serve, as if they were your own family. I am grateful I pre-planned the service for my brother, I was able to bring my dog to the service, and Skye (my dog) was reverent too. It was a beautiful service with the people that loved me and my brother present.
