In 2006, the dream of Rev. C.E. Willie, III, a licensed mortician became a reality when he opened his very own funeral institution. Rev. Willie is the President and CEO of the C.E. Willie Funeral Service, LLc. When I was a child growing up in Pollocksville, North Carolina, I told my mother the late Louise Jones Willie that one day I would be a mortician.
A funeral or memorial is a customary way to recognize death and its finality. Funerals are held for the living to show respect for the dead and to help survivors begin the grief process. They also give mourners a chance to share stories, create memories, fulfill religious beliefs & customs, participate in a support system, and gather at a peaceful place during a time of confusion and uncertainty.
Holding a funeral or memorial service for your loved one is a positive first step in the grieving process. Family members and friends get a chance to say their goodbyes, and at the same time, they get to share strong feelings with one another. In the days, weeks and months following the service, people continue to need others to lean on for understanding, encouragement and guidance.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of planning ahead has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
The Department of Veterans' Affairs provides information on memorial benefits, health services, life insurance programs and more. The Social Security Administration allows survivors to report the death of the loved. The site also provides information on potential benefits that can be claimed by the survivors.

CE Willie helped me transport my fathers body to UNC for body donation. It was a very very good experience. First of all, when you call, you end up talking to CE Willie himself. It is truly a family owned business. And although he has a team working with him, he chooses to be present for all aspects of serving his customers.. He is a retired school principal and explains things in a warm, down to earth, easy to understand manner. He is respectful and kind and seems to be in it to serve.
To be honest some of my conversations with other funeral services in the area felt like they were not giving
