In 1977, the Martin family moved to Knotts Island from Virginia Beach, Virginia where they had a thriving Strawberry Farm. Upon their arrival they started their farm with Peaches and Scuppernong grapes. Over the past forty years they increased their crops to include apples, tomatoes, pumpkins and other fresh produce.

The extensive horticulture and viticulture knowledge of the Martin family along with North Carolina's coast of rich sandy soil overlooking the scenic Knotts Island Bay and a little help from Mother Nature have all played an integral part of the success of the farm. In early 2017 the farm was acquired by a new family who want to preserve the nature of the farm.

Let me tell you the views are amazing and the apples were delicious. That is unfortunately where the positive experience ends. I was thoroughly disappointed with several things.
1- I called a week before we came to pick apples and left a message with my phone number and a return phone request. No return call happened
2- there was a gazebo and 7 picnic tables but no outside food or beverage allowed. That's fine but they don't offer any food for purchase and they are out in the middle of nowhere.
3- we purchased two peach slushies with wine and two bags of apples totalling $54.
4- we were the

Been coming to this farm/winery for 10 years with exception of last year due to covid. Came to pick peaches today, not as sweet as the previous years. A guy in a golf cart drives around watching the peach pickers though. Weird. Fyi no dogs allowed as previous reviews stated. Check their facebook for updates and call before coming especially if you dont live nearby.

My husband and I have been coming to Martin Farm and Winery for several years and have enjoyed every visit. Sometimes we come to pick peaches, sometimes to buy some wine or a peach slushy, every time we make the trip it is always worth it. The owners and staff are VERY helpful and are always willing to answer any question we have. Follow the directions, RESPECT the property and mind which areas to avoid and you will have a great time picking peaches and will leave the farm with a great experience. It's not everywhere that you can pick peaches and enjoy the bay breezes, we highly recommend and plan

I took my mom and my two young girls to Martin Farm and Winery to pick peaches. Upon arrival I noticed it could be closed, No problem. I looked inside the house and noticed through the pane glass window baskets stacked to the ceiling and wine bottles sitting on the bar. I called, and the voicemail said they were closed for ripening. My daughters were with their grandma climbing a tree & we captured a cute pic before leaving.
At this point an angry old man flew around on his golf cart. I said I understand you are closed and when will you be open again so we can come back? He was EXTREMELY CONFRONTATIONAL

I didn’t see any wine tasting going on. The place looked spooky. I felt more uncomfortable with the tour guide who took us to the peach trees in a golf cart. I was excited about my first peach picking experience that I began recording the peach trees. He then asked me what I was doing. I said I was recording the trees he said can you turned that off I don’t want my voice recorded. I felt disappointed because there was no rules of recording my experience and if you are a tour guide you should not be uncomfortable being recorded if that’s a problem you should make that clear so you won’t

Great to experience picking peaches for the first time. The owners take a lot of pride in providing a good experience. Thought it was going to be bigger and have more to offer. No food here. Definitely a farm first and winery second. No indoor seating. Very friendly and helpful. Would come back to pick peaches again, but not much more to do. Delicious peach slushies. They have picnic tables outdoors to enjoy a glass or bottle of wine. Beautiful view of the bay area and covered drive with trees. Nice spot for a fall wedding or photoshoot.

I would rate it 0 if I could. The woman helping us taste wine was wonderful. She was so nice and sweet and knowledgeable. Then we go to get on the golf cart to ride to pick some peaches. We had a big party ranging from me, my mother, and my younger siblings. The man driving the golf cart was not only drinking, but rude as they come. He started by telling my little brother who is fresh out of a knee surgery and has been in bed rest for 4 months that’s he’s so pale and needs to get out more. My little brother was so taken back and sad about this comment. My little sister was talking to him, and

This place was absolutely gorgeous the employees are kind and informative. The local insect life is beautiful and colorful and they keep to the higher fruits on the tree. The air is clean and crisp. The picnic area was nice and clean, my family and I had a great time celebrating a birthday here. 10/10 would recommend.
