Central Vermont Eye Care was incorporated in July of 2006. Since that time, our mission has been to provide the highest level of service to our patients in a caring, comfortable atmosphere. To achieve this mission, we are committed to utilizing the latest proven technologies to ensure that the people of Rutland and its surrounding communities receive an unsurpassed level of care.
Cataract surgery today is safe, effective, and quite common. Thanks to advanced cataract surgical procedures and intraocular lens implant technology, cataract surgery is not only one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in the United States, but it is also one of the safest and most successful surgical procedures that you can have.
Some members of our staff have been with the office for over 20 years, and have come to know the patients very well. All members, from the front desk receptionist to the providers, are integral to patient care as we employ a team-based approach to eye care, with each member of our staff focusing on his area of expertise.
This is the first and only non-hospital-owned outpatient surgical center in all of Vermont. It is a state- and federally-licensed, Medicare-approved facility that has received the highest possible accreditation approvals. The Eye Surgery Center is an "eyes-only" facility that is specifically tailored to cataract surgery.
The lens of your eye functions similar to the lens inside a camera or microscope. Its purpose is to focus light that enters the eye so you can see the world around you. When cataracts form, the lens of your eye becomes clouded with proteins, which make it difficult to see clearly. If cataracts are left untreated, you can suffer from severe vision loss.

I am a former patient of Dr. Kelly and Dr. Herzon. When they retired I started seeing Dr. Keshava. Then, all of a sudden, he was too busy to see me so I started seeing his wife Tina. I suffered an injury to my left eye as a child and have very low vision in that eye. I've worn glasses all my life and no longer drive. My right eye is only slightly better. I've had this problem since I was three years old.

First and foremost, Dr. Keshava’s team at Central Vermont Eye Care provide top notch service and are known across the continental US. As a matter of fact when I was traveling back to New York from Florida I had a conversation with a couple on my flight that spoke highly of an eye doctor/surgeon in Vermont. I asked if it was Dr. Keshava by chance; they replied with a big smile and said “yes as a matter of fact”!! Hands down the patient care that is provided by this office is top notch and is known to be at that level by many. Way to go Vermont Eye Care Center and continue providing that top
