Evaluations for immigrants seeking a Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions (Form N-648). If you are having problems and aren't sure if you need an evaluation, a meeting can be set up to determine your needs. If you are without insurance or have an unmanageably high deductible, a reasonable plan can be arranged with you to afford the testing you need.

Finding the right fit with a psychologist is extremely important. To help facilitate this, a free twenty-minute phone consultation is offered so you have the opportunity to tell your story, ask questions and get to know our approach and how we might work together.
Perkins Counseling & Psychological Services, PLLC makes every attempt to keep fees as low as possible by maintaining minimum overhead costs. To continue this service, patients are asked to remit payment at the time of each session. Payment can be made in the form of cash, check, and major credit cards.

We are always expanding and rotating our available groups, so be sure to check back frequently to see what's new or coming up! Required initial consultation with the facilitator will occur to make sure a group is an appropriate therapeutic setting.

I came to these folks seeking help with my issues. I had two visits. The first meeting the lady yawned a lot and seemed to sleep occasionally.
The last visit I mistakenly talked about all the new folks that have moved into this area that has seen an explosion in traffic and crime. I mentioned to her that most original citizens of this area seem to place the blame on the influx of folks from New England. That seems to be an often editorial in the newspapers out of Raleigh. Having been born and lived in the area for for 50 plus years I have been witness to it. If that is what I wish to discuss with

I have honestly never been to a better practice in the Triangle. The office setting is warm and inviting, the reception and scheduling staff are accessible and service oriented, and there is a wide range of specialists who all for the most part are highly experienced and qualified. Our family has seen 2 therapists over the years and both were excellent. Anyone who has been around the block with mental health services knows that finding quality care that fits your needs and insurance is like a needle in a haystack. I would have no hesitation in referring anyone to Perkins.

Perkins Psychological and Counseling Services has been critical to my family's well-being. Our two kids made it through those rough teenage years with a greater sense of their personal strengths and connection to their emotions due to great parenting (ha?), great genes (maybe?), regular monthly counseling sessions where they could reflect, vent, question and talk (YES!). After much research found a provider that fit my needs. As with most good providers she was booked. The office told me to check back every month or so to update the list. I received a phone call yesterday out of the blue pretty much accusing me of being a stalker and that anyone that is set on seeing a specific provider is a red flag. Really! My advice is find an independent provider as they are just a company trying to keep their staff scheduled and the money coming in. I am extremely offended by your actions. Stay away from Perkins and find someone that cares about you and not about the bottom

I have been going to Perkins for about 4-5 years. I saw Dr Robin Exum-Calhun. Sadly, because I moved to another city, I had to stop seeing her. Dr Robbin has a gentle demeanor when needed, and will gentaly challange you when needed. She feels like your friend but never unprofessional. She genuinely cares about her clients. She is a Christian. When she feels talking about God and the scriptures will help add clarity to a situation, she talks about God. However I know she is respectful of other oppinions. In the decade that I've received counseling, I've never felt more comfortable and satisfied with a therapy session. Karen is basically a saint, I will follow her wherever she goes if she ever decided to leave. I am so happy with her that when my sister expressed an interest in talking to someone, I immediately asked for a reference and was told Derek is also fantastic and in the same practice. My sister is also over the moon with Derek so I think it's safe to assume that Perkins has a terrific staff.
