We were so thrilled! But even with all the excitement, I felt like there was something missing. And there was. My mother passed away from cancer in 2005. I was so young. She didn't see me graduate college or have a baby. Now, she wasn't going to see me get married. Thanks to Pinterest, the idea of having a portrait of my mother to memorialize her was something I deeply wanted.

When we began our journey of planning our wedding, we were quickly overwhelmed by the cost of everything adding up. Pinterest doesn't tell you this and certainly those blog posts, under estimate the actual cost of a day! Why can't they just be real with us so we know what to plan for and not feel like we are incredibly poor :) Well, we knew just how important wedding photography was to us. Besides the rings, it's all we would have left. So why spend thousands and have nothing to show for it, right? We talked to probably 20 people. Some didn't give us the time of the day. Alicia photographed our wedding in July 2021. Absolute BEST way I spent my money for the wedding!!! On our Reveal Day (which she held exclusively for us at her beautiful home), I fought tears as I looked at all the moments she captured that I had either missed or forgotten. Alicia also helped my mother calm down and assured her everything was going to be ok. Mom remembers her saying “Mom… I GOTCHOO!”, and she did. Alicia had our backs through the ENTIRE process! You get MUCH more than “just photographs”. You get a kind hearted woman who LOVES what she does and she’s DAMN good at it

I don't have enough words to describe the enthusiasm and just pure joy Alicia and Crystal brought to my daughters wedding. I will start with 5 stars doesn't describe how pleased we all were with them both. I know they were there however I don't remember getting my photo taken while getting ready, Alicia has the ability to let you be yourself and not feel like you are being set up for a photo. Planning a wedding is TOUGH but Alicia with Meraki Portrait, was hands down the best part. We were really uncomfortable with getting our photos taken. But we also really wanted to enjoy our day + get photos that weren't so forced 100% of the time. What stood out to us to make us book, was the fact she blantly stated that she doesn't take everyone that comes her way. That told me she really values what she does she, but her people. She didn't book another wedding on our weekend. That was actually reassuring to be quite honest. Let's be real, nothing about a wedding day is CHEAP! So why would I settle

Working with Alicia was such an amazing experience. She made us laugh so much. She showed us how much she truly cares about her clients. The time and dedication she puts into capturing the perfect moments is astounding. I look back at the photos with such fond memories. I am pretty certain my wedding would not have been the same without Alicia. By the time my wedding day arrived I felt like we were old friends. I was as excited to see her as I was to see some of my guests I hadn't seen in years. She insisted on us meeting via facetime a few months prior to the wedding and really making sure we were a good fit. She was respectful of my family and friends and fit right in. She made everyone comfortable and excited to be photographed. I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!!!!

Alicia is amazing. I have been so lucky to have gotten to know her over the past year and I cannot say enough positive things about her. She is fun, personable and pours her heart into her weddings and most importantly, her couples. I love her style and she does such an amazing job at capturing the day.
