Mental health disorders affect children and teens more often than many parents realize. Statistics show that 50% of all lifetime cases of mental illness begin by the age of 14. Edmond Sarraf, MD, at Southern California Integrative Wellness Center evaluates children for mental health concerns, determines the underlying cause of the problem, then offers natural treatments as alternatives to medications.
The most common problem I see is a school-aged child getting diagnosed with ADHD when they really have Auditory-Visual-Processing Disorder. Instead of a psychiatrist /or psychologist, they really need visual and occupational therapy. It breaks may heart how many times I see this and the difficulty families have gone through trying to make heads and tails out of this.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is estimated to affect 11% of all children, with boys having at least double the risk of developing ADHD compared to girls. Edmond Sarraf, MD, at Southern California Integrative Wellness Center specializes in assessing children for ADHD and prescribing natural treatments before resorting to medications.

Dr Ed has been a wonderful and caring doctor for my kids, ages 5 and 2. Through integrative practices my 2 year old has never needed a course of antibiotics, and my 5 year old has never needed any since we started seeing Dr Ed two years ago. I have to drive about an hour each way to see him, and he is well worth it, but he also is able to help us avoid office visits through the use of video and pictures. I can’t recommend him highly enough to those who are looking for a doctor who won’t default to a medical prescription for all ailments. I also want to note that if he believes medicine is necessary
