Dr. Daniel Walters is a Board Certified Podiatrist practicing in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Walters is a medical doctor specializing in the treatment of the foot, ankle and related parts of the leg. As a podiatrist, Dr. Walters diagnoses and treats conditions of the feet. The feet are key body parts that give a person stability, absorb shock, allow for walking and standing and are necessary for overall well-being.
So, the feet need expert care. Dr. Walters sees patients experiencing bunions, foot injuries, ankle injuries, diabetic foot, foot infections, athlete's foot, warts, walking problems, and arthritis. Dr. Walters specializes in non-invasive surgery. The end result is pain free feet. Dr. Walters talks about one of the most common issues that he finds in his practice.

Services
From teachers and health professionals to construction workers, police, and firefighters, there's no shortage of Chicagoans who spend most of the day on their feet. When you depend on your feet to get you through your day, constant heel pain can be a major obstacle that significantly reduces your quality of life.
With a densely packed lakefront, some of the most walkable neighborhoods in America, and a proudly blue collar identity, Chicago denizens spend a lot of time on their feet. While we wouldn't trade it for anything, there's an unfortunate side effect: the ceaseless hard, flat pavement and floors of everyday living aren't necessarily the best companion for our feet.
Diabetes is a growing epidemic that poses serious health risks for your feet. Excess, uncontrolled sugar in the bloodstream reduces and restricts blood flow in the feet and is poison for nerves in the lower extremities, and that combination leaves people with diabetes at greatly increased risk of sores and injuries that just won't heal.
Feet are very different in childhood than they are in adulthood. Bones are still soft, flexible, and growing at an incredible rate. Muscles are still strengthening and developing their coordination. Legs and feet may even still be "unwinding" into a more adult-like alignment for the first several years of life after being tucked in in the womb.
Your feet and ankles absorb the full brunt of your weight when you walk, run, jump, pivot, or engage in almost any kind of athletic activity. It's not much of a surprise, then, that lower leg issues are among the most common sports injuries. If you do experience any foot or ankle pain due to running, exercise, or sports, it's important to get a professional assessment quickly.

Not only is Dr Walters top notch in his field, he is a great person with excellent bedside manner. I feel comfortable in his care, and we have great conversations! I have seen Dr. Walters twice now. At my second visit he removed my toe nail (purpose of my visit). He is very nice, kind, knows his stuff and caring. After my appointment, it was dark outside, he walked me to the parking lot to make sure nobody was hanging around out there. He just called me to check on me. He is all about service, something that is hard to find these days! Highly recommend.

I've been seeing Doctor Daniel Walters since 2015 for some of the side effects from Chemo. I ended up with CIPN (Chemotherapy -Induced Peripheral Nueropathy) in my feet. He recommended foot massage therapy which has been working great.
Him and his staff are so pleasant to deal with, I would recommend him to anyone with foot problems.

Dr. Walters is an outstanding Podiatrist. He is very accessible and answers all my questions and is very thorough. He is very experienced and I like the fact that he can do everything "in-house" so I don't have to go somewhere else for the actual foot surgery. I highly recommend him and his office for any foot care needs!
