Services
Our mission at the Sue Hewitt Dance Studio is to teach dance in a inclusive, positive, and nurturing environment. To foster this positive environment we focus on creating an atmosphere where each dancer can learn to express themselves through movement in a safe and supportive manner. Through age appropriate music, performance opportunities and a focus on movement to foster self-improvement we hope our dancers develop a love for the art of dance.
Focusing on a positive approach to dance education. SHDS takes pride in having educated dance teachers and artists who are committed to providing a positive and inclusive experience for every dancer. Sue Hewitt and her teachers encourage self-expression, creativity, exploration, collaboration, discipline, and integrity.
Please note that the Dress Code at SHDS will be strictly enforced to ensure the most optimal progression of all of our dancers. At Sue Hewitt Dance studio we believe following the dress code provides discipline, ensures no distractions during class, and enhances movement and body lines.

Proper dance attire enables the teacher to see the dancers' positions and movement in order to give necessary corrections for the benefit of the dancer's education.
Students are expected to attend their classes on a regular basis. Regular attendance is necessary in order to advance through the levels of study. If students desire to perform in the dwhas, recital, or other opportunities, absences leading up to the performance are highly discouraged. Dancers can make up a missed class by attending an alternative class of similar age.
Where can I get dance wear? - We have an annual dancewear sale at our fall Open House. We also have a small studio store with shoes to try on for size before ordering or we can direct you to a store in the area or online. How do I know which class to sign my dancer up for? Payment is preferred by utilizing automatic withdrawal - forms are in the office.

We have been taking dance with Sue for 4 years now and she is the best! She is so good with all of the kids and puts her all into every class and every show. We love our dance family and can't imagine going anywhere else. Thank you for all you do Sue!

I recently took the Contemporary Master Class series here. It was amazing. First, you should see Abby dance. She is the daughter of Sue Hewitt and teaches classes. She was breathtaking to watch. No doubt she conveys this technique to her students. On to the space; the sky lighting in the dance space was inspirational. They also have a sprung floor. As a chiropractor, this is incredibly important to me. If you're looking for a safe floor for you or your children's knees and back, this is where you should be!!
