Waves Village has it all! The condos are all great, the kiteboarding location can not be beat, and they have a great restaurant right on site. There is no better sunset on the OBX than their condo decks or yard. My husband and I stayed in the Nights in Rodanthe unit (top floor, middle unit) on our anniversary weekend.
I wish we could have moved in permanently! This is our second stay in the Life is Good unit at Waves Village and we've loved every day of our vacation! The sunsets are spectacular and watching the kiteboarders is thrilling. My boyfriend had a blast with Mike during his kiteboarding lesson earlier this week!

We booked this place with decent expectations and it definitely fell short.
I understand it's a vacation rental. I'm not expecting a five star hotel, but as a beach vacation rental, I would expect the place to have knives that were actually sharpe to cook with or if you include a grill with the rental, that it actually works. One side of our grill wasn't working. Disproportionate amount of silverware to plates, bowls, etc. lots of dishes were cracked, chipped, etc.
Bedroom doors don't latch, which makes privacy hard. The mattresses are extremely squeaky, uncomfortable and

We rented out 8 of the 9 units for a week. It has a lot going for it with some annoying bits that could be fixed fairly easily.
**Parts that were good**
This place has some serious potential to be a great condo destination for kiters. Everything inside is modern and updated. 3 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The bedrooms have king beds that are really two twins beds joined. You can sleep 6 easily without having to resort to the couch.
Each of the condos I saw came with large flat screen TVs and audio systems. They spared no expense as these are sizable screens that are a few inches thick

I reserved a condo at the property for a week in Sept. 2011. They happily took the entire amount for the stay two weeks before we were scheduled to check in. Hurricane Irene washed away part of Rt. 12 rendering the property inaccessible. After several phone calls to the company were not returned, I eventually reached Nick the sales rep. He informed me that Waves Village would not be refunding my money and would be keeping the entire amount. I am in disbelief that they think this is acceptable.
