Shawna at Shore Details helped my family book a successful wheelchair accessible beach home in Salvo. The house we stayed at was perfect for our family size, with a fully working and dependable elevator. Shore Details was responsive and helpful with all questions in planning. Their rental contracts and insurance I think are very fair and balanced leaving less worry and work on our end. The location in Salvo is so quiet and peaceful - whether it was a walk to the beach over the dune or relaxing by the pool, it was 💯 leisure vacation!

We booked a 4x4 with this company last week and it was a horrific experience. Not only was the jeep filthy, couldn't even see out the windshield, but it wasn't safe. The breaks barely worked and it was terrifying. The windshield wipers didn't work and we drove through some heavy rain. When it did rain, the rain came through the dashboard and ruined my purse. The glovebox fell on to the floor when opened. We were promised a shovel in case of getting stuck while driving on the beach, there was no shovel. We couldn't even drive the beach due to the un-safeness of the vehicle which was the entire point

STAY AWAY!! THE HOUSE WAS FILTHY!! JEEP RENTAL A RIP OFF TOO!
The house is smells very musty upon entering. I called housekeeping immediately to tell them the house was very dirty and ask them to return. The kitchen counters were not clean, there was sand, bugs and dust bunnies on the floor, the kitchen drawers were dirty with crumbs, utensils were not clean (I ran them through the dishwasher), there is mold and dirt in the bathtub. There were hairs in the shower as well which is absolutely gross!! There were food stains on the dining room table as well. I was fine with the tired worn out furniture

Pam and Rene and the Shore Details team took care of our rental home for the 9 years we owned and rented it out each season. Very poor service, management, housekeeping , etc.
I've had many complaints from guests due to maintenance and housekeeping issues. Complaints of things broken or not working and a dirty house. This past year I have had bugs in my home, a broken toilet, and trash in my yard, just to name a few of the problems that went unnoticed until guests checked in. I lost a lot of rental income this past rental season due to lack of "care and management" of my home. Two guests actually checked out and demanded their money back due to the conditions

I planned my vacation as Dorian was projected to hit Florida and move into the gulf. I waited as different levels of the evacuation of Hatteras lifted only to learn that Dorian had damaged the property I had chosen. I waited in a hotel in Kill Devil Hills for word from Shore Details. I kept an attitude of gratitude because while my vacation was side tracked, the people of Hatteras had their lives upended not to mention the devastation of Ocracoke. We booked our vacation on April 19, 2018. Due to my uncle having a 5 bypassed heart surgery we ended up canceling our trip April 29, 2018. Ten days after we booked it canceled and now we can't get a refund. We had to file a claim through the vacation insurance, which we did. We have to provide papers signed by the doctor. The doctor refuses to sign this because my uncle wasn't going on the trip in the beginning. So, now we are out $1,955 and change because they won't refund us. Our trip was supposed to be for June 2-9 so we canceled with plenty of time. All we want is a refund!!

We have been coming to the same house In Avon for 4 years and each year we have different needs and questions. The first year we were there for our daughter's wedding and since for vacation. We rented a Jeep at Fish Tales though the Shore Details office twice. We were able to explore Hatteras Island off-road with ease. The Jeeps were clean and in great shape. They come with a cooler, fishing rod holder and the ORV permit is included in the rental price. The people at the office were friendly and made renting easy and fast.

We fired Shore Details after the first year of them 'taking care' of our home. The cleaning was subpar, we were over promised services, and repeatedly over charged. Bills were often incorrect. We could rarely get quotes as nobody, not the head of housekeeping or manager, knew prices of basic services. Only the owner knew, and they weren't what she indicated they'd be to me in person, they were significantly increased on more than one occasion. One of our guests told me Shore Details 'missed all the details' including dead flies behind the curtain of the sliding glass

We have been very pleased with the work Shore Details has been doing this summer at Crosswind Landing, our cottage in Frisco. Even though we started booking late in the season due to renovations and lost a week in July, resulting in only 7 rental weeks, I still consider 2017 a success. I booked a vacation home with Shore Details the first weekend in May for 3 nights. It was a short stay but a great time and Shore Details was the reason. I found them while doing some research online and I was ecstatic about the vacation services they offered along with the beautiful home we stayed in. This is our first year owning a beach house and we were extremely nervous to rent it out because we put so much into our renovation.
