Services
Each day, Dr. Sherry Baker begins with a quiet time that includes green tea, Scripture reading, and devotionals followed by a walk with her "grand-dog", Lexie, for a minimum of one hour, regardless of the weather conditions! She is a semi-vegetarian (pescetarianism) preferring salmon over any other protein.
Depression: Depression signals words that are not spoken, boundaries that are not respected, needs that are not met, and that hope is lost. There are several types of depression addressed in counseling: major, chronic, atypical, postpartum, bi-polar, seasonal, psychotic, and serotonin deficiency. Dr. Baker guides you in returning to a previous level of effective functioning.
Dr. Baker is happy to announce Skype, FaceTime, and Facebook Video Chat counseling sessions are now an option. Phone sessions have always been an option for those unable to come to the office for an appointment, but Skype, FaceTime, and Facebook Video Chat offer the ability to have a face to face session in the comfort of your own home.
One aspect of Dr. Sherry Baker's method in Christian Counseling is to equip you with resources and tools. In addition, Dr. Baker has developed several videos for use by agencies and television concerning adult children of alcoholism, dysfunctional homes, and co-dependency. Please contact our office for more specific information.
What can I expect? Along with weekly one-on-one counseling sessions, Dr. Baker uses a technique called bibliotherapy which consists of books, CD/DVDs, pamphlets, workbooks, and homework assignments that assist in your healing process. Dr. Baker believes your healing process requires more than face-to-face dialog/instruction.
