Today we are celebrating fifty years as one the few locally-owned and operated long-term care facilities in the state of Alabama. In the last fifty years, Limestone Health has grown to a 170-bed licensed, skilled nursing facility specializing in long-term care.
The 34-bed Senior Rehab and Recovery Center wing opened in 2004 to offer short-term inpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy for patients who want to gain the strength and skills required to live independently.The home-owned and operated facility has continued to serve the Athens-Limestone County community for over five decades.

Our professional staff has been highly trained to provide compassionate care for the unique needs of our long term residents. We provide emotional and therapeutic activities to maintain or improve the abilities of each resident in a loving, home-like environment.
From the activities solarium to the therapy room to the dining area, our 170-bed facility complements our mission of helping patents regain or maintain as much independence as possible while, at the same time, enjoy clean, pleasant surroundings.We provide three nutritious meals a day, housekeeping services, a beauty salon/barber shop, laundry services and many choices in social / recreational activities.

Our new rooms offer many comforts of home including attractive dcor, flat screen TVs and comfortable seating for family members.
The Senior Rehab Center is designed with home-like comforts in mind. Short-term therapy patients live and recover near other patients whose individualized therapy schedules, goals for recovery and daily activities are similar. Our 34-bed Senior Rehab Center can accommodate adults in private or semi-private rooms for short-term stays.
Outpatient therapy is a great way to benefit from physical therapy without committing to inpatient rehab care. Our new Outpatient Rehab Center is staffed with the same highly-trained therapists as our inpatient Senior Rehab & Recovery Center, but patients only attend during regular office hours. If you live close by, outpatient rehab may be a convenient option for you.
