Dr. Mayhew is a wealth of information and takes her time to figure things out. She asks a lot of questions and shares an in depth perspective of her expertise. She is refreshing compared to what I am used to at Kaiser Perm. At Kaiser...A RUSHED OBYN appointment with no real answers and never being of concern to get to the root of the problem. I fought with Kaiser over my health concerns and Menopause only to be told to accept my body breakdown during Menopause, seek counseling and there wasn't anything else that my Kaiser Doctor thought anyone else could do better than her? I so Fired

A consultation with Dr. Mayhew is well worth your time and money. She spends a great deal of one on one time with you educating you on many different aspects of woman's health. Unlike any obgyn appointment I've ever gone to. I left so informed with a new mind state that I already feel, has bettered my life as a woman.

I saw Dr. Mayhew in March for skin itchiness and thought it was something simple. The appointment was easy to make and she seems to be knowledgeable. I asked for charge upfront and she mentioned $200-300. I have very good insurance so I thought everything should be covered. She asked if I had pap test lately and I told her it was done 3-4 months prior with normal result and every year prior. For some reason, she still did it on me without asking. At the end, I was charged for more than $500 for the office visit. My insurance paid $300 and I still have to paid $200+ since pap test was already covered

I am struggling with pelvic organ prolapse that is severe enough that it drastically affects my quality of life. I previously had a really competent gynecologist who had seen me for years and who takes insurance, but she was unable to take the time to tell me what I needed to know when symptoms first appeared, or to help me at all with non-surgical options. I have a lot of other health issues and surgery really scares me. So things got pretty bad pretty quickly due to my lack of understanding.
Dr. Mayhew is extremely knowledgeable and is able to take the time to have a real discussion with me

This review is LONG overdue. I would not be here if it weren't for Dr. Mayhew. I was going to write her a letter but thought I would just review her here. I saw her bad reviews & I could not believe it. 6 years ago I was pregnant with my first child. I was 42 and a high risk pregnancy. I had PCOS also. Something was wrong and I could feel it. I called her receptionist at the time and she told me to go eat bc I was hungry (thought it was my blood sugar) then come in. Dr. Mayhew called me back immediately and she said to come in do not eat anything but it was too late. It wasn't good

What a relief to have found her!! I've been in the US for almost 10 years and had not been able to replace my gynae/GP with someone whose opinions regarding healthcare matched with mine. She is not a one size fits all type of practitioner nor a "dealer" and I cannot stress how important that is to me. I will be going back to her until one of us isn't available anymore :)

I recently found out that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and my mom was researching places for me to go. We made an appointment and when we showed up she handed us an info sheet for me to fill out... Let me remind you she never informed either of us that we were being charged hourly.... she sat in the office basically just trying to sell us her products and me being new and scared to PCOS she didn't seem to care one bit all focused on products she was trying to sell. The appointment ends and then once she keeps us in there for hours she decides to let us know she is hourly. ABSOLUTE RIP

Dr. Mayhew is knowledgable. I came to her with my concerns, and she took all the time I needed to help me and answer my questions. She is so caring, and understanding of different cultural backgrounds and histories (for women's issues this can be critical). I wish my insurance was covered by her, she would be my go-to doctor for sure

When I see a physician, I'm looking for expertise and insight into my healthcare concerns. I'm looking for someone who knows her field and who can provide preventive care to help me avoid problems down the road. Dr Mayhew is excellent in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. I really appreciated that she was able to be my primary physician as well as my gynecologist. Two for the price of one! I trusted her expertise thoroughly. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and empathize with you, I recommend a social worker or clinical psychologist, not a gynecologist. I

Just went to Dr. Mayhew for first time based on reviews from around the internet. The folks who are leaving a few bad reviews here, I am betting, do not value the degree of importance that diet and exercise make in one's quality of life. More and more, this is being discovered, yet many do not want to hear this. That is what these folks seem to be referring to. If you check into many doctors' recent research, including oncologist Dr. David Agus (doctor to Steve Jobs, Ted Kennedy, Robin Young, Neil Young), you will see that if people just paid more attention to that, that it is believed

One of the worst doctors I've ever been too, terrible bedside manners, spoke about inappropriate things (not medically related), and sent me home with herbal and vitamin remedies. She's very unprofessional and treats her receptionist terribly. Also her assistant/aid(?) is incredibly rude.
Never again.
Never again.

I would like to share my great care experience with Dr. Mayhew. I can truly say that I have never had the concern and care that she gives from any doctor in my life. Doctor Mayhew really loves her patients and you can feel that, it is a feeling of concern and interest and a desire to give great care . A short story....I took my husband with me for a follow up blood work panel, after her review and recommendations for nutrition and vitamins my husband said "Can you do the same thing for me" Dr. Mayhew said "I am sorry, I only take care of women" I thought this was so nice that

I am very disappointed with this doctor. I went in there with the impression that I was seeing a professional, I have legitimate medical conditions which I thought she would help with. I just arrived to California from another state and was looking for a primary doctor who would be able to fill the prescriptions I had already gotten from my previous doctor. These medications have helped me immensely; however, I was down to my last week's supply. Instead of refilling my prescriptions though, this doctor sent me home with herbal remedies and didn't even have the decency to tell me in person

I started seeing Dr. Mayhew when I moved to the bay area at the beginning of the year. I have always been able to get in to see her quickly and I don't have to wait when I get to her office. She is very patient and listens to what you have to tell her. She also explains things well and make sure you understand rather than rushing you out of the office. Unlike most doctors, she really takes the time to understand you as a whole person. Rather than just treating symtoms, she asks questions to help get at the cause so she can find a treatment that will work well. I also love that she encourages

I was a patient of Dr. Mayhew's for roughly four years. She delivered my first (and currently only) child back in 2006. I moved to a new OB/GYN in 2007after a job-related change in insurance provider. I confess I'd been considering changing to a new doc several months prior to changing insurance companies. I have several friends who either were or continue to be patients of Dr. Mayhew's.

I found her on the bathroom stall ads at TGI Fridays in Cupertino (hey, I was desperate) and the "For Women By Women" slogan appealed to my 18 year old self, as did the fact that her office is in Los Gatos which to me meant it would be at least better than the first doctor I went to on the East Side of San Jose. ick! Anyway, Dr. Mayhew was my annual gal for 5 years , even after I moved 45 minutes away.
