Services
The Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary founded Holy Names High School in 1868. Established on the shores of Lake Merritt at the site of today's Kaiser Center, the school, then called Convent of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, has the distinction of being one of the first high schools in Oakland.
It is with great honor that I welcome you to our 2020-2021 school year. We are deeply blessed to share this sacred space on Harbord Drive where we impart our talents and intellect to educate our next generation of leaders.
As the oldest and only all-girls Catholic high school to currently serve Alameda County, we are fortunate to have this distinction as it has paved the way for our graduates to be fearless in their future academic and professional endeavors.

I am an alumnus of Holy Names High School, a small Catholic school founded by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, that has nurtured young women since 1868. The years that I spent here contributed enormously to my growth as a person emotionally, physically and, most importantly, spiritually. I am thankful for the education that I received at this campus.

(I can't believe I still remember it by heart!)
If the school's mission statement isn't enough to persuade you to have your daughter take a look at this high school, then hopefully, this review will.
I'm a proud alumna

When I went there is was pretty kool. oF COURSE i didn't like school school, but i made really good lifelong friends at this school. I loved some of the teachers I had when i went there. i loved spirit week,my favorite time of year. I think is has gone down hill since some of the great teachers have left.
It is a small school, private, all girls,we had to wear uniforms. Nothing really borthered me,I just hated going to mass sometimes and if you forgot to wear white they would write you up? that was kinda dumb. I learned a lot there, made great friends, and made a lot of great memories.
I would
